A Little Bit of Sunshine

"Ah ganun ba? Pero kayo lang ba ni Ouie? Hindi sasama si Tito Enzo?"

"Hindi. Busy si Tatay eh." I pouted.

"Yung Mom at Dad ni Ouie? Si King? Hindi ba sila sasama sa inyo?"

"Hindi ata eh. Wala naman siyang sinabi." Mas lalo akong napapout before I buried my face to the table.

All of my plans for the first semestral break with her faded away. Nakakapanghina at parang ayoko ng mabuhay. Silly but that was half true.

Pumunta ako sa pinakadulong shelf ng library at naghanap ng kahit na anong mababasa. I felt a presence beside me and saw Sunshine with her arms crossed while staring at me.

"What are you looking at?" I tried to make my voice low even if we're already far from the librarian and no other student was around.

"Nagseselos ka nanaman ba, Hanson?" Her eyes squinted kaya napaiwas ako ng tingin.

"Of course not. Bakit naman ako magseselos?" I started scanning a book that I chose from the stack. "Hindi naman ako seloso and plus there's nothing to be jealous about."

I heared her sigh before she forced herself between me and the shelves. My face heated up because she was still staring at me while I kept myself busy with reading the book.

"Pumili ka nga ng number."

That was random but I chose to reply with the page number of the book where I'm currently reading.

"Twenty."

Sunshine snatched the book away from me before roaming her eyes around us. Lilingon na rin sana ako sa paligid but then she pulled my neck down and started showering my lips with quick kisses.

"Twenty kisses na yun." Both of our cheeks are beet red when we parted. That was really unexpected of her. "Wag ka ng magselos okay?"

I bit my lip and slowly nodded at her. "Dapat pala ginawa ko ng one hundred." She slapped me lightly before both of us chuckled. "Pero pwede ka bang umuwi ng mas maaga? I really want to see you during the break."

"Uhmm. Susubukan ko pero hindi ako mangangako." I pouted again which made her chuckle. "Mukha ka ng tanga diyan. Wag ka na ngang ngumuso!"

"Parang gusto ko nalang kasing sumama sa inyo eh." She touched my cheeks before slightly pinching it. "Baka kasi maagaw ka ni Ouie sa akin. What if you'll realize that you're really not into me? Tapos-"

"Ang paranoid mo talaga no? Never ko ngang magugustuhan si Ouie romantically kahit na mabuhay pa ako ulit sa ibang panahon. Friends lang kami at mananatili kaming friends forever."

"Okay." I said lifelessly before grabbing the book from her again. "Have a nice trip nalang. I'll call you or text you if anything happens."

Tumawa nanaman siya kaya nagsalubong ulit ang noo ko. What's funny with what I've said? Bumababaw na ata ang kaligayahan ni Sunshine.

"Walang signal doon Hanson." My jaw totally dropped with what she said. "I mean meron naman pero kailangan pa hanapin."

"So it means, we won't be able to call each other?" Tumango siya.

"Wala tayong communication for a week." Muli nanaman akong napanguso. "Wag ka na nga kasing ngumuso!"
