It was a late summer with snow still melting, people bustling around trying to get to lunch or back to work. I was heading home because I fractured my elbow when i fell down the stairs carrying a box of pizza to my class of recruits. My job is a 12 story military building as an training officer.
1:00 30 minutes before impact
I made it home with out a problem so I sat down to watch a marvel movie. I'm halfway done until power cuts out and I hear people screaming in the streets. I jump up and race to my window as I see three medium sized meteors race over head. At the time I thought that it was a good idea to get as far away from the impact as possible, turns out it wasn't. I ran outside and ran like all hell was chasing, me I bumped into a few friends along the way and kept them close, we made it to the military building and went to to the farthest sub basement which was 5 and as we waited we were shook with a ground shaking thud and more screams from the survivors That I roped into the sub-basement for protection from debri.
After the shaking stopped I went to check outside 3 other military soldiers followed close behind.
As we reached the door to outside I felt heat radiating from it so I told the other 3 members to find something to burst the door open with, 1 guy named Steven questioned me and went to touch the door I tried to warn him but he touched it and was Givin 2nd degree burns. As he withered in pain on the ground I manage to pop the door open with a fire extinguisher that the 2nd guy named Robert found on a floor above near another really hot door I blasted the door with the foam and bashed the doorknob a bit before the door opened, when it opened I was greated with a wave of hot air and a bunch of charred skeletons of all the people who didn't make it in time.
