She was just a name to most

She was just a name to most. Her existence felt more like a myth than reality. She was a vulture who swooped in and attacked when they least expected it. They say she wielded a sword, with a blade the colour of the shining moon.

Though, nobody knew much about her. Some say she's a myth, others say she's a witch. But the only thing they knew for sure was that if she was after you, you might as well say your goodbyes while you still have time.

Those that lived to see her said she wore cloths of red that flapped in the Tatooine wind like the wings of a Bonegnawer. They say that she wears the red to hide the blood stains of her victims. And over time, they began to call her the Red Woman, and some, the Red Witch.

Asana Rouge was not a witch, but the power she held was surely unnatural. She worked as a bartender by day, and Mos Eisley's biggest threat by night. Her profession was most useful in gathering the city's latest gossip.

Most recently, she had heard of a man, a Jedi, who had taken refuge in Mos Eisley. They began as rumours, and nothing more than that, but overtime she came to sense the presence of him. He wasn't hiding himself well, and it was only a matter of time before the Empire showed up looking for him. Nothing spreads faster than a rumour in Mos Eisley.

Asana almost felt sorry for the man, but he put himself in that position. Jedi were too obvious. They could never sit still, and must always seek out justice, despite their code praising patience. She was almost disappointed by the Jedi, she always thought they were wiser than most. Perhaps she might've been wrong.

The stories of the Jedi told of their powers. They used mainly swords of blue or green to fight, though she's heard of the outliers. She knew that the power the Jedi held was the same as her own. Although, she wasn't a Jedi. Not even close.

She's trained herself from childhood. First, it was floating small things like rocks, and later, moving entire structures. She lived in the outskirts of Mos Eisley, mostly a peaceful life— aside from her nightly duties with her lightsaber of course.

Her moonlight blade was a creation that took her many years. The hilt she found on the black market, soon after the purge began. The Crystal though, that was a little more of a struggle. The Durindfire Crystal was exceptionally rare on Tatooine, and there were no records of it ever been wielded by the Jedi. Asana found the Crystal being sold in an auction maybe three years ago. She played the part of the bartender, and at the end of the night took the kyber crystal. She had no experience with building a lightsaber, but after some tinkering she was able to break open a small department holding another crystal. It was fractured, and shimmering blue. She held the hilt and wondered who might've owned this lightsaber before it made its way to scum-filled Tatooine.

She then assured the hilt that it would be used next by the proper owner, and replaced the crystal with her own. Fumbling around for some sort of switch, her finger slid over a small button.
