I didn't know where I was, I didn't know how I even got here! All I remember was tumbling through the raging current of the Mississippi River, and seeing a huge dark figure pull me out from the bank before I blacked out.
The first thing I noticed upon regaining consciousness was the heavy mattress underneath my body. I still felt cold and damp from the river, but I was also grateful to not have to fight for my life within the current anymore. My whole body was so tired and sore that at first I couldn't even muster up the strength to open my eyes.
Since I was still too tired to look, I instead decided to harness my other senses to decipher where I was. The sound was faint, but I was certain I heard two voices within my hearing range. One was deep and slow, while the other was at a more audible pitch, but too fast for me to make out the words. Among the words I could make out from the fast-talker were fool, bear, and people. The other voice stuttered trying to figure out how to respond, when without warning, I let out a huge sneeze!
Alarmed, I finally managed to open up my eyes a bit, only for them to instantly widen in shock!
