“On a second thought, Ward, you will help us.”

Coulson changes his order and Melinda starts to run down the hallway, listening for where the action is. She realises she won’t have to try and focus on the fighting to locate the mysterious woman; she had managed to leave quite the trail of bodies for her to follow. Shaking her head, Melinda starts to run down the hallway, reaching another room just as the young woman is being thrown into the wall to her right.

Feeling how her eyes grows large as she sees the agent fall to the ground, she can’t stop the single name slip past her lips.

“Skye.”

Seeing movement in the corner of her eyes, makes Melinda focus on the super soldier in the room. Pushing her worry for the young woman to the back of her mind, she lifts her gun. Without second guessing, she starts shooting the larger man, every bullet hits, yet the man keeps moving towards her.

With only two meters between them, Melinda starts to think of another way to take him down, when a shock wave pushes past her and forces the super soldier back, hitting the wall on the opposite side. A large and sickening crack echoes through the room and the man falls limb to the floor.

Turning her attention back to Skye once more, Melinda sees how the young woman slowly rises from the floor, legs shaking.

“Well, this is going to leave a mark.”

She can hear her say, with a voice that doesn’t belong to Skye, and she isn’t sure she places the accent. Looking over her, Melinda starts to second guess herself, and seeing how she is at the moment covered in blood, Melinda takes the risk.

“I don’t think that is the only thing that is going to leave a mark, Skye.”

Melinda points out, seeing how the young woman freezes up at the mention of Skye, Melinda narrows her eyes. Seeing the head shake and how the woman lifts her head, an empty expression in her eyes, Melinda gets the urge to take of the glasses.

“I’m not sure who you are speaking of, but my name isn’t Skye. I’m agent Daisy Johnson.”

She informs, pulling out a S.H.I.E.L.D badge, looking at it, Melinda realises that it’s the real deal. Nodding her head, she watches the agent put her badge away once more and turns. Looking at her back, Melinda knows she should drop it, but she can’t. She knows this woman, even if it’s another face and voice, she knows those eyes.

“I’m sorry, you just reminded me of someone I know. I guess I just miss her, I haven’t seen Marry-Sue Poots in six months.”

Melinda says, her eyes locked on the woman. She sees the moment the words hit the young woman. Her poster gets stiff, and she is sure she hears a sharp intake. Crossing her own arms, Melinda watches as the agent turns around.

“You... you read to the end?”

She asks, and Melinda could hear how her voice breaks slightly. Nodding her head, she sees how Skye relaxes slightly.

“Now, come on. We better get back to the BUS and get…”

“The others, to they know?”

Skye interrupts her, and as Melinda looks at the young woman and she can see fear growing.

“I never told them, I thought that if you would come around, it would be up to if you want them to know your story or not.”

Melinda informs her, seeing how Skye let’s out a sigh of relief, Melinda starts to move past her.

“As I was about to say, we should head back to the BUS so we can look you over, because that is a lot of blood you have on you.”

Melinda continues to say, as she takes a step around Skye and heads for the door.

“It’s Daisy now and I can handle my wounds by myself.”

Skye, Daisy, comments as she starts to follow her. Turning her head around, Melinda looks at her with narrowed eyes. Seeing how Daisy shakes her head with an eyeroll, she takes a few quick steps, so she ends up beside her.

“Fine, but only you will be allowed to check up on me.”

Skye comments, making Melinda rolls her eyes this time around, at least she is agreeing on someone checking her over. Turning her head to look at the young woman walking beside her, Melinda can see a large difference from the one that disappeared six months ago, which makes Melinda wonder what have been going on. Then there is the reason she returns, trained agent with powers. And then there is her new appearance, coming to a stop and seeing how Daisy stops herself, turning to look at her, Melinda tries to figure out where she has seen her face before.

“What?”

“It’s just that, I can’t fully place the new face you are wearing.”

Seeing how Daisy lifts one hand to her check, she starts to smile before taking of the glasses, her own face returning.

“Yeah, a member of the team I have been training and working with have done some update on the nano mask, connecting them to a pair of glasses was a brilliant move. As for the face, it’s not in the system, I put it together myself. I tried out a few combinations, mostly mixing the faces of my team members just for the fun of it, only to realise that others would recognise who I would belong to. I finally found a match that is a bit more under the radar.”

Daisy starts to explain as she puts on the glasses once more, a smile playing on her lips.

“I mean, who thought the face combinations between Peggy Carter and her former love Steve Rogers would work this well.”
