Tortured by my own heart
Unable to lay you to rest

Guide me, teach me, protect me.
But I am deafened by your silence
Each day feels like a step further away.
Echoing, further, away.
Clinging onto whatever remains
But what is left is buried in dust
And even the dust is a reminder of the absence that you left.
