"Sure. Follow me," he says, walking off.

Lucia's POV – 10 Years Ago

Okay. Real talk. He's hot. Like stupid hot. And those eyes? Ugh, help me.

I follow him, totally aware I'm checking him out. I wonder if he knows this place like the back of his hand? He definitely looks like a regular. He also looks like he could be a cocky jock or... a quiet type with a hidden past. Either way, dude is fiction-level hot and I need to get a grip.

After a few minutes, he stops and opens a door.

"Here you go. Hope your first day's a good one." He smiles—just a little—and walks off before I can even thank him.

Uhhh—WHAT?! No flirting? No number? Just... leaves? What is this, real life?

Still kind of stunned, I step into the office.

"Come in," a gentle female voice calls.

A tall, elegant woman sits behind the desk, smiling warmly.

"Hello ma'am, I'm Lucia Sherman—the new student. I'm here to pick up my schedule and details."

"Ah yes, of course." She hands me a folder. "We've also introduced a new dorm system, if you're interested in applying."

I nod politely, thank her, and leave the office, now armed with my schedule and a mental map that's already falling apart.

After wandering for fifteen minutes—and accidentally interrupting three classes—I finally find mine. First period: Math. Yippee...

I knock. "May I come in?"

The entire class turns to look at me. And there, in the second row, are those green-blue eyes again.

OH. MY. GOD. Not only is he in my class—he's right there. Staring at me. Like this is fate's weirdest fanfiction twist.

"You must be the new student," the teacher says kindly. "What was your name again?"

"It's Lucia. Lucia Sherman," I reply.

"Welcome to the class, Lucia. I'm Miss Sabrina, your homeroom teacher. Just try not to be late next time, alright?"

I nod apologetically.

She points to an empty seat. "Take a seat beside Mr. Richard Slivoski. He's the class representative, so he can help you settle in."

Of course.
Of course my seat is next to Green Eyes himself.

I walk over slowly, forcing a polite smile as everyone watches me like I'm the new plot twist in their school drama.

I sit down, slide my bag under the desk, and glance sideways at him.

He smirks. "So... we meet again."

I try not to melt into the floor.

"Yeah. Funny how that keeps happening," I reply, forcing my voice to sound casual. "Thanks, by the way... for not leaving me to wander the school like a lost puppy."

"Couldn't let a lost puppy wander forever, could I?" His grin deepens, like he knows exactly what he's doing to me.

Okay, wow. Confident much?

The class shifts, papers start shuffling, and Miss Sabrina launches into a lecture about quadratic equations or something equally miserable. I try to pay attention, really—but every time I glance at the numbers on the board, his green eyes are staring at me.
