A Purple Book. A Skurr fanfic

Chapter 1

"Be safe heading home Sami!" ,said a concerned co-worker to the small person.
"Of course I will...friend?" Skyler couldn't for the life of her remember their name but that was normal for them, grabbing the last bit of his stuff they finally decided to go home after a long day of school and to work straight after she was so ready to go home. That particular night of winter was colder than usual. Walking to the bus stop when he got to stop he realized he had another 30 minutes till the bus would get there.

Cursing under his breath wishing she brought a warmer jacket, he knew he should have listened to his best bestie Eli when he
told them to bring an extra jacket just in case. Skyler could practically hear the 'I told you so' from him now. They cringe at the thought of him being right for once, bringing his pale hands to his face trying to get some sort of heat; They saw a strange new building across the straight and it seemed to be open due to the fact that a big neon sign saying 'ROMEO'S SHOP OF WEIRD SHIT; OPEN 24/7'' on it with bold red letters on the two O's in Romeo was fox ears and the S was a fox tail.

'Well a shop like that can't be suspicious at all right?' and with that though they make their way to the shop. Opening the door a loud bell rang into the store he almost started gagging at the strong smell of...bleach??? Who would be cleaning with bleach like that late at night? They asked themselves but decided to ignore it and have a look around this uh... interesting store. The shelves are lined with all kinds of weird things,half used candles, a collection of weapons and "Wait what is that?" squinting their eyes behind the makeshift counter was a bright purple book with strange writing on it, hell it even looked like it had some crystals in it.

So caught up in his mind he didn't even notice a small man sneaking up behind her till he started speaking "Oh! Are you checking out that weird ass- I mean very cool and interesting book?"
Letting out a VERY manly scream flipping themselves around to see...a fox man?! A very skrunkly (thank you Eli for that word) looking at one wearing a hoodie that reakes of bleach his cheeks with fairly large red triangles. He must have been the one cleaning 'He has to be into some furry type shit' he thought, thinking the man is a cosplayer or something wearing ears and a tail. 'The tail must be some kind of belt- or at least I hope so' her mind started to wonder and hoped it wasn't a butt plug type of shit.

"Um- yes I am. I have never seen a book like that before. Can I have a closer look?"
The skrunkly giggles tail swaying side to side slowly, "Yes of course!" he pounces? Over the counter grabbing the large book with his lil paw hands, sliding it over to the person. The book has dark purple leather for the most part,some small looking light purple crystals on the edges with a belt around it to keep the book closed. It didn't seem to have a title, just some strange writing on the spine of the book and Skyler couldn't recognize the language but that didn't stop them from being integrated by it.

Looking for a price tag for a few seconds and failing he asks the fox man about it. "I have been trying to get rid of that thing since forever, you can have it!" tilting their head scrunching their face "What's the catch foxy?" the males ears flop to the sides tail stops wagging as he says intensely trying to hide his anger at the nickname 'foxy' but Sami notices it with her amazing read on people.

"The name is Romeo, and there is none." he lifts his hoodie a bit to reveal the key to open the book, it was a heart shaped locket "So do you want it or not? I don't have all night here"
Checking the time having only a few more minutes till the bus came, Sami thinks.
'Do I really need that book? It feels like it's calling me to get it but this man...' Skyler looks at the man in his little fox eyes, them being filled with hope?

He must really want to get rid of this book,but why does he want to so badly? It seems like an ok book, maybe it's because of the strange language but they are sure he can find what language it is if he really tried.

"Fine, I'll take it." Romeo's smiles widely showing off his fanged teeth "You got yourself a deal." taking off the key, handing it over to Sami, and with that she walks the store, the bus pulling up right when he gets back to the bus stop.

He sits down in his regular spot starting at the book still captivated by it, "How interesting."
