Nicos pov:

"Fucking dumbass." I mumble under my breath after slightly chuckling at the sight of Y/N shoving a strawberry cake slice into their mouth, almost choking on it in the process. After a few more bites and random jumbles of words, Y/N is actually able to form somewhat of a sentence. "Oh well then fuck you." They giggled lightly while already grabbing the cake knife to cut themselves another slice of the strawberry cake.

Me and Y/N went out to go have a small picnic out on a hilltop next to a huge apple tree, a spot that we always went to since we were little kids. On the hilltop, the grass was coated with all kinds of flowers that gently swayed in the breeze, and an apple tree was big and old that had very little apples growing on it but was still so memorizing to look at. Y/N and me are really close and we do almost everything together, we been friends since elementary when Y/N threatened to beat me up over stealing that last piece of green paper in art class, later when they were sent to the schools office, did they start taking interest in me.

I looked down to the picnic blanket that im sitting on and at the contents on it, a small vase of flowers in the middle of the blanket while there's a bowl of strawberry's and a plate of huge chocolate chip cookies. Next to the plate and bowl there is a tall bottle of coke with two green glasses that are filled half way with the coke.

I pick up one of the cookies and start to nibble on the corner of it. While doing so, my gaze ended on Y/N without them noticing it, I've liked Y/N for a little while now, and I don't mean like as a friend, I mean.. you know, like like them, at lot actually. I don't know why or when started to fall for them, its just how they can be naturally bold and doesn't take anyone's BS at all makes me get all gushy around them. They can beat someone ass without a second thought yet when it comes to me they are kind and sweet, besides the light teasing, they actually care and show interest in me, and that alone makes my face heat up.

"Hey, Nico." I hear my name being called by Y/N in front of me while they are holding the glass cup in between their hands. Getting out of my thought processes and meeting my gaze with Y/N's, I reply "Yeah?" to them. They inhale and exhale slightly and look me in my eyes while gripping onto the glass ever so slightly and spoke.

"Ilikeyouweshoulddate-" They said, saying it so fast that I couldn't hear a word they said at all. "Im sorry, could you say that again, Y/N?" I commented, tilting my head to the side waiting for their response. "I...I like you w-we should date.. or something I guess.."

What. Holy shit what.

They said it the next time a little slower ending it in a more quiet tone while they adverted their eyes away from me as a small red tint rose to their face. My heart nearly skipped a beat as I almost choked on the cookie I was eating, coughing a little. What do i say?? I mean I love them too but how do i reply to them like I mean it? Y/N started to look worried due to my silence as they open their mouth the try and change the subject but I quickly interrupted them before they can get a word out. "Y/N, I like you too, like.. a lot." I replied as my face felt warmer than before, I smiled and chuckled at them. Their shoulders sank in relaxing as they smiled too.

"This is now our first official date then!" They smiled proudly "As long as you promise not to shove cake in your mouth more, I agree." I said to them while they face went into a playful dramatic one.
