Without You (Levi x Reader)

Chapter 32 - Questions

"That is the least manned checkpoint around." Marlo says as we hide in the cover of the trees, looking over at the building in front of us. A few MPs were standing outside, I counted three in total. Marlo was right, there really weren't that many people.

"Okay, we'll handle this ourselves." I say, watching as two of the MP conversed at a picnic bench outside the building. "Get back to your squads before they start suspecting anything."

"Okay." They say, walking off.

"Hitch, Marlo." I quickly call out before they leave. They stop and look at me. "Thank you, we really appreciate it."

They give me a curt nod and salute before they run off back to their squads. I look back over at the building we were going to invade. Earlier Jean had 'tested' them too see if we could trust the two of them. Once he'd deemed we could trust them they all came back and explained what happened. I was grateful Jean did that, without them we wouldn't have found this place.

"It's finally our turn to pick a fight." Levi says walking quietly over to me, trying not to be seen. I give him a quick jab in the ribs.

"You stole my line." I say pouting. I see a small smirk grace Levi's lips before I turn to face my squad. "Let's go."

The weird trio, the name I had dubbed Jean, Connie and Sasha, were sitting at the front of the closed carriage that we were all riding, aiming straight for the stacks of boxes that fortified the gate of the checkpoint we were now invading.

Once we were through the gate we started attacking every MP in sight, using the element of surprise to our advantage as we leapt from the back of the carriage. I ran towards an MP to my left, using the hand-held controller of my ODM gear to knock him over the back of his head, rendering the man unconscious.

I spin around, readying myself for the next person who came towards me. I see a man rushing towards me from the right, gun in hand. I run towards him, cursing under my breath. Why didn't we get guns? 'Maybe because gun won't do shit if a Titan were to grab you!' I thought to myself, answering my own stupid question.

I see the person move their finger to the trigger and I quickly duck behind a box that had been thrown out when we'd paraded through the blockade. I hear the gunshot ring out and I use this opportunity to run towards the man while he reloads.

He swings the back of gun towards me, trying to hit me instead, knowing he didn't have enough time to try and shoot me again. I kick him in the groin, he bends over in pain, losing focus on what he was trying to do.

His grip loosens on the gun and I quickly snatch it from him and use it to knock him unconscious. I look around, seeing the rest of my squad fighting the other MPs. In my short distraction someone jumps up behind me, landing a sharp blow to my stomach.

I take a moment to regain my composure, looking to see who had attacked me. A girl stood in front of me, arms raised, ready for a fight. I throw the gun I was holding to the side, the girl watches the gun and I use this moment to rush towards her, catching her off guard. I land one quick blow to the back of her neck and knock her out.

I look around again to see that everyone else has stopped fighting too, all of the MPs being either knocked unconscious, tied up or writhing in pain. I walk to my squad, telling each person to go back to the meeting point as I made my way towards Levi.

"You all good?" I ask him as I make my way over. I looks over at me, holding onto the back of one of the MPs shirts.

"Yeah, you?" He asks me, starting to walk towards the meeting point, dragging the man behind him.

"Same." I say looking over at the man. I study him for a moment trying to figure out why Levi was dragging him along. "Who's he?"

"He's with the Interior Police." He replies. I nod in understanding surprised that he managed to find someone in the Interior Police here. Great, that meant we had someone we could question about Eren and Historia's whereabouts.

The sun had already set by the time we got far enough away from the checkpoint. We sat the man by a tree after Levi ruffed him up a bit so that he couldn't get away. The squad stood on guard incase someone had followed us out here or the man made a break for it.

"Where are Eren and Christa?" I ask him, kneeling down to be at eye level with. I keep my distance from him, knowing that Levi would use force if we didn't get the answer we wanted and I didn't want to get any blood on me.

"Oh, you're so brave." He says looking me dead in the eye. "The checkpoint you wiped out back there was just recruits who could barely wipe their own asses. You think you're some sort of hero, beating them down?"

"Oh, no, what an atrocious thing we've done! We should go back and apologise." I say sarcastically. Levi kicks the man in his face, knocking out a few teeth.

"What's more atrocious is this mouth of yours." Levi says, shoving his foot into the man mouth. "You better use it while you still can."

"Now I'll ask again..." I say calmly, getting his attention back on me. I smile sweetly at him before I continue talking. "Where are Eren and Christa?"

Levi take his foot out of the mans mouth, giving him the opportunity to speak.

"It's no use." The man says, coughing out blood that was gathering in his mouth from the teeth that had been knocked out. "All that's left for you now is to run and hide inside these walls, covered in mud and shit! If you don't turn yourselves in, every last Scout we captured will get the noose! Starting with the one most guilty of all, Erwin Smith!"

Levi jumps towards, kneeing him in the stomach before grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back, pressing him up against the tree.

"Shut up." Levi says. I stand up, walking towards the two of them.

"That's what happens when you don't answer my questions." I say leaning down in front of him. "Now I'll ask you one more time, where are Eren and Christa?"

"I-I don't know." he says, stuttering. He turns his head to look at me. Tears are streaming down his face. "I'm not allowed to know! Kenny Ackermann is a very cautious man!"

"Ackermann?" Levi asks. So that was Kenny's last name?

"That's his last name?" I ask him.

"It is, but..." The man starts but Levi cuts him off.

"True, there's a lot of things he doesn't divulge... Especially the important stuff. But you must have a rough idea." Levi says, standing up, holding the man's arm straight behind him. "You best try to remember."

"Stop it." The man weeps.

"You have plenty of arms left to break." Levi says, pulling the man's arm further back.

"You... You're insane."

"Maybe I am."

"Someone's coming!" Sasha shouts. Everyone jumps to the ground, Levi pins the man's arm behind his back, pushing him into the ground. "More than one."
