A child's cry in the wind who saw everything taken away so quickly. The horrors of the night hounding, closing in quickly. God bless her soul.

In a distance Spain was walking through the rain embracing the cool touch of the rain. The wind blowing its troubles away in hope of a new day. Spain shivers as the wind taunted him silently whispering the secrets of the world. That all stops when a clang of metal falling on the cold harsh ground rings in the air. Screams could be heard in the crispy air.

Spain whips around his short choppy brown hair depositing water droplets in the air. He starts running as fast as he could without slipping and falling on his face.  Spain  slips over a mysterious object making him flail his arms around making him look like he was trying to fly. He catches himself making him grin with glee. But as soon as he grinned it melted away like ice on a hot summer day.

He stumbles upon an alley way that had such an evil vibe that it would send chills down the blackest soul on Earth. Bodies littered thewet ground, Spain looks away from the 3 figures trying not to gag. He walks closer cautiously trying not to step in any crimson red liquid. With the crackle of lightning gives a real quick light flashed on the faces of the dismantled bodies. A woman, a man, and a young boy about the age of 8.  Spain looked up to see by a trash can was a little girl trying to hide.

Spain slowly made his way to the girl until he got too close and the little girl tried to hit him. Spain jerks backwards trying to not get hit by the object in her small hands. The rain poured harder and lightning raged in the sky like 2 dragons fighting to the death.  Spain got a good look at the horrified little girl. She had dark brown hair that was a little bit past her shoulders. She was wearing a small pinkish nightgown that could have been mistaken for a dress.

She was covered in the blood of her lost family and was muddy from hiding. Her cheeks were the mostly clean spots from the tears of the lost souls. If you got close enough you could see her fear. Spain noticed how badly she was trembling with fear and once again he tried to make his way towards the girl. He holds his arms up surrendering, he tried talking to her softly but she only retreated.

"Chica it will be alright. I won't harm you." He says softly.

The litle girl's eyes were wide like a deer seeing head lights before it gets hit. She shakes her head as if deciding on not to trust the Spainard. Spain gets on one knee like he was propsing to her. His arms wide like she was his own daughter, silently begging her to come to him. She stares at him not believing what she was seeing. She starts forward but jerks back giving him as much trust as a mouse would to a hungry cat.

She throws the object in her hand at Spain's head. It hits him and the only thing he could think of when it hit his squishy face was how soft it was.  She tries to run past him but slips over the wet concrete that seemed to make fun of her. She slides and falls in Spain's arms who closes them embracing the child.

She squirms like a cat trying not to the in the bathtub full of water. Spain holds tight and whispers softly "I'm sorry chica that this happened to you."

He holds her and sits crisscross rocking her back and forth like she had woken up from a nightmare. Spain hums a lullaby and the small girl stops struggling and relaxed only moving to get the object she had thrown. Spain notices that it was a teddy bear that she was holding on so dearly. The little girl cried softly in the Spainards wet but yet warm arms.

"Shh it'll be alright chica I'll take care of you I promise and the Great Spain never breaks a promise."

Spain gets up shivering from the cold and unforgiving night. He looks down in his arms as he held the girl in his arms like a new bride as he walked through the night.
