"Wake up, time for school!" Mother Yelled. I got out of bed and walked to my painted closet. As I was changing I heard my father yelling that the bathroom was free. I walked out of my room, ate breakfast and brushed my teeth. I ran out of my house before the bus left, I walked to the bus shivering in the snow. Christmas passed and it was already January. I was excited to see my best friend, but little does she know, I've been crushing on her for years. The bus finally stopped and I walked to my homeroom. "Welcome back sixth graders!" Mrs. Celest said as we walked in. My best friend ran in, late as always. I laughed at her as she sat down. "Don't laugh at me, Ray." She said, Her smile was cute. "You have a cute smile." I muttered. "What did you say?" She questioned. "Nothing, Jess." I said, Jess and I were passing notes as usual and quietly laughing at it. I was about to give her the note with a paper heart that said my confession of love to her, but Mrs. Celest caught us. "Is there something you'd like to share with the class girls?" Mrs. Celest said as she crossed her arms. "No ma'am." Me and Jess both said laughing.
The bell rang and everyone walked out in a straight line. Jess waited for me since i was in the back of the line and she was in the front. We walked around for a bit and picked some flowers. "Do you think Chris likes me back..?" I stood in shock. Jess never told me she liked someone, "You never told me you liked him." I said, confused. "Oh, i'm sorry, i forgot, but do you?" She asked as if her hiding this from me was nothing. "Oh uh..i don't know." I said, still shocked. "Are you ok, you seem down." She asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said picking up a flower from the ground. "How many flowers do you have?" She asked while smiling. "I have uh..50." I said showing Jess the flowers. "Woah! That's so many, I only got to 25." She laughed. I smiled. "TIME TO LINE UP!" The yard duty said as she blew the whistle. "Let's go, Ray!" Jess said, dragging me to the line. "Psst, look Chris is in front of us.'' She said as she was fangirling over him. Chris probably heard her, she whispered really loudly. "Jess, how long have you liked him?" I asked. She responded with, "Ever since he came here, why?" I stayed quiet until I got to my seat in the classroom. "Ray, can you please read paragraph 5." Mrs. Celest said. "Yeah.." As I was reading, I noticed Jess staring at Chris with love eyes. I messed up the last line but thankfully no one noticed. At least I thought. I looked over to see Jess laughing at me for messing it up. "Stop laughing at me, Jess." I said, "But it was funny." She responded, still laughing. "When is lunch? I am very hungry." I said as my stomach growled. "Hey Ray." I looked up to see Chris standing there in front of me. "Yeah, what do you need?" I said confused while looking at him. "Wanna hang out with me after lunch?'' Chris asked. I looked over at Jess to see her shaking her head no. "No thank you Chris, I'm hanging out with Jess after lunch." I said, "Okay, see you later." Chris said and then walked away. After Chris walked away the bell rang and we all lined up. Me and Jess both brought lunch pails, I had a sandwich and she had a salad. After lunch we both picked flowers and walked around.
