Koi No Yokan

Spring Sunday

"Yah! Wake up! Wake up! Chaen! Wake up! Minguring is hungry, come on, get up!" I panicked and glared at Kwangbae Oppa's noise. I wasn't hungry if Chaeyeon was laying comfortably on my lap, I would've stayed in this sitting position, not minding anything at all.

"Yah! Oppa! Can't you see she's sleeping? Shut your mouth will you?" Chaen stirred awake and fluttered her eyes open.

"Yah, dumb dumb, wake up and eat breakfast. Go on get up." Kwangbae Oppa told Chaen.

"Yah! I'm not a dumb dumb." Chaen replied to her and got up abruptly from my lap.

Perfect! Just perfect! She ruined our moment! She had the audacity to smile at me beautifully. Gad! I swear to the gods and goddesses that I'll hurt her if she does this again to me and Chaeyeon.

"Come on, Mingu, let's have breakfast." She told me brightly.

"I would much rather stay here." I replied to her.

"Oh, come on princess. Get up! Let's have breakfast already!" She told me as she pulled me with her.

This caught Lexie Eomma's attention and peeked her head from the Kitchen.

"Breakfast is served, our Princess Minguring. Come on, get up from there or I'll haul your pretty little ass over the dining table." Lexie Eomma smiled at me.

I had no choice but get up, when Lexie Eomma calls me for breakfast as much as I don't want to get up just yet, she makes me go and get up, there was something in her intense gaze that makes me follow Lexie Eomma. So, just like the previous times, I got up from my seat and walked over to the dining table which seats four, she made everyone of us sit. Kwangbae Oppa sat with me. While Chaen sat at the opposite side of the table together with Lexie Eomma. Lexie Eomma cooked another All-American breakfast, she previously started to make All-Filipino breakfast, probably three times a week on varied days, it was like a blind breakfast to be honest, we never know what we'll get on the daily.

Seeing that both parents realized that we aren't at all happy with having an american breakfast, both decided to surprise us, two odd days, we go for either a Korean breakfast or Thai breakfast, apart from the All-Filipino or All-American Breakfast both cook for us. It was a pleasant surprise to us that Haneul Appa managed to convince Lexie Eomma of the variations in breakfast. I was honestly tired of pancakes after five months of having pancakes for breakfast. The change both parents made was a welcome treat for us. Especially for the full blooded Koreans, who aren't used to having pancakes as breakfast and three bacons, sausages and sausage patties along with some hash on the side, we honestly loved Haneul Appa's All-Filipino breakfast, rather than these pancakes and hash.

Haneul Appa loved Mondays, for her it symbolizes the start of another week to do your best and recover from your past week, it was as she says, another chance to show the world that you are stronger than they perceive you to be. She had that mentality of going back up when she falls down. Lexie Eomma meanwhile loved Sundays cause Sundays is when both her parents are free from work, Sundays for Lexie Eomma was 'Family' Day, I envied Eomma if I was being honest. Her family is close knit. They would always come and visit her on Sundays, whenever we came to see her. I love both pretend parents, how they both had their families with them, unlike the three Chaebols that is Kwangbae Oppa, Chaen and I, they had all the love and support from their families. It was something we have not experienced from our own family.

"Yah, you two, do you want to come with me to Gangnam? My family is looking for you both." Lexie Eomma asked us.

I looked at Kwangbae Oppa who was thinking about it.

"Me, I could come with you, Alex Unnie." Chaeyeon volunteered herself.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Eomma. I need to pick up some of Eunbi Unnie's stuff, she'll be moving in tomorrow and I offered to help her move her stuff in." Kwangbae Oppa replied.
