After what feels like a whole minute of just staring at each other, Mikey finally breaks the arctic cold ice between them. "And your name?"
She doesn't want to respond, so she shares a glance with her twin. He has a look on his face, as if telling her to just say it. Reverting her attention to the blonde boy in front of her, she forces herself to keep calm while she answers.
"Hanagaki Nakano."
"...I see..." He looks to be in deep thought now. "Takemitchy. And... Naka-chan."
"CUT!"
"Eh?" Manjiro glances behind the rows of extras, to see that they've made way for the director to walk through. "What's wrong, Author-san?"
"Manjiro, you're supposed to call her 'Kano' and 'Kano-chin'." She pinches the bridge of her nose. "Didn't you and Nakano go through this last night?"
"Yeah, we did," the other female that was mentioned speaks up as she takes a script that one of the crew members lended her. "Told him the same thing. See here?" She points at the line Manjiro is supposed to say. "It's 'Kano', not 'Naka'."
"But everyone else calls you 'Naka'," the blonde male points out with a pout.
"Off set!" She rolls up the script and bonks him over the head with it.
"Oi!" Manjiro sends her a glare mixed with his childish pout, making it impossible to take him seriously. "That hurt, Naka-chan!"
"Well it had better get it through that thick skull of yours." Nakano then pats the crown of his head where she hit him, and hands the script back to the crew member. "You'd better remember, otherwise I'll be calling you 'Bakanjiro' from here on out!"
"Okay, Okay!! I'll remember! Please don't call me that!"
He says that as a whine more than a plead, which causes a teasing smirk to tug on Nakano's lips. "Then you'd better remember, Bakanjiro~"
"Naka-chaaaan!!"
'Those two are as perfect for each other as the characters they play.' Off to the side, Author-san is walking back to her position off set, eyes closed with a warm smile growing on her face. 'I casted the right people.'
