This is another one shot for my Walrus twin Ellie :) hi Ellie, hope you like this! It's very similar to real life ;) ENJOY :D xx

“Why are we so unlucky with men?” I asked Red as we crossed the lights with the green man. We then started to make our way partly up the hill to college for a long and tiresome day of A-Level lessons.

“Yeah, what are we doing wrong? Like, why are we so unlovable?”  Red huffed and glanced behind her, immediately snapping her head back around, a wary expression etched onto her face.

“It’s not that we’re unloveable, it’s because lads are douchebags,”

“Oh really?” a masculine voice said from behind us. I heard Red utter something which sounded like “shit bag”.

Luis then stepped into my eyeline and he began to walk closely next to Red, like personal bubble invasion type of close. I could see the distress in my best friend’s face. She hated Luis. Not in an actual hatred kind of way, but in a “he’s so cute, his face ruins my life” kind of way. It wasn’t like she could do anything about it either. He was due to leave college for the army after he’d completed his AS level qualifications this year. Myself and Red had had countless conversations, late night texts and phone calls which consisted of her groans and sobs filling my ears about how Luis probably and most likely liked her as much as she liked him. But what could he do about it, even if he was infatuated with her? Back when we were in secondary school (and back before Red even liked him) Luis had been clearly serious about joining the army, even at the tender age of 15. He’d even uttered the words which would make any girl swoon with sympathy: “I’d never let a girl fall in love with me because I’d break her heart if I went into the army”. With his cute face and his obvious consideration for other people’s feelings, I wasn’t surprised Red was head over heels for the boy.

“Yes. Guys are douchebags,” I said, realising that this statement was rather contradictory considering the personality Luis had on him.

“That’s a bit harsh,” he had a playful smile on his face, all the while trying to catch the attention of Red who had her eyes set on the path ahead of her, her brow furrowed against the uphill wind.

“Okay, most guys are douchebags. Not all of them,”

“I’m not,” he adjusted the strap of his red bag on his shoulder and blinked.

“You stating that you’re not obviously means you are,” the monotone voice of Red could just about be heard in wind yet it made Luis boom out a laugh all the same.

“Funny. Catch you later. Alyx, Red,” he nodded his head at me, a glistening smile still set on his face. His eyes lingered on Red but she was unwilling to look at him. He then made his way left down a side street and into the newsagents.

“I wish he’d stop talking to me. This whole ‘getting over him’ process isn’t gonna work if he’s always up in my face,” Red sighed as we trudged our way up the remainder of the hill.

“I know. Guess you’ve just got to look like you’re not interested in what he has to say whenever he speaks to you. Make it seem like you don’t have any feelings for him,” I answered, brushing my hair from my face.

“I’ve been trying to do that but all he does is try to catch my attention even more. Like, I don’t care what he has to say. It’s so infuriating,” the look in Red’s eyes told me that she maybe did care about what he had to say, yet wasn’t particularly bothered about what it was. I think she just wanted Luis. But she couldn’t have Luis. And Luis himself wasn’t making it any easier. “Ah look, there’s Jay!”
