Chapter 14: Distorting A Legacy.

"Last I heard, most were held up in the lab with some guards," The other guard said.

"The rest...They didn't make it."

Emilio nods in understadning.

"Alright. Our next plan of action is evacuation. We'll head to the armory, grouping with any guards along the way. We need better firepower to kill the Grimm and explosives to escape the compound," He said.

"Afterwards, we'll go rescue the scientists and get out of here."

The rest of the guards nod in understanding.

"Let's move."

Emilio and the guards began running to the armory.

[Research and Development Division]

The scientist and some guards are in the room. Outside, three Beowulves are scratching at the door. Those inside have barricaded the doors, but they worry the Grimm will get in.

A few of the guards are bandaging their wounds.

Some of the scientists stand around, wondering what to do.

Others are overwhelmed with fear, a few rocking back and forth in fear.

"W-We're going to die. T-They're gonna break through," One scientist said.

One guard walks over and stands behind the scientist. He puts his hand on their shoulder.

"Don't worry," He said.

As he lowered his head, his sunglasses tilted, revealing his crimson red eyes.

"Soon, it will all be over."

[Outside the doors of the armory.]

Emilio and the guards stand outside the armory.

On the way over, they killed some Grimm and managed to rescue more guards.

"Stand back," Emilio said.

The guards nodded and went back several feet.

Emilio took an arrow from his quiver and fired it at the doors.

*BOOM!*

Smoke filled the room. It started to clear, and the doors were revealed to be destroyed by the explosion of the arrow.

"Grab the strongest firepower here and as much ammo and explosives that you can," Emilio ordered.

The guards nodded.

While they went in, Emilio covered the entrance, intending to take down any Grimm he saw.

Suddenly, the sound of screaming could be heard.

Emilio runs into the armory. It was as big as a warehouse. Inside, he finds one of the guards being devoured by a Beowulf. However, he was more surprised at the scores of Beowulves and some Ursas in the armory.

Emilio narrowed his eyes in frustration. With this many Grimm, it would be difficult to obtain better weapons and explosives, let alone survive.

"Tch! He planned this," He thought.

The Beowulves and Ursas were slowly making their way to them.

Emilio draws a hard-light dust arrow. He fires at the nearest Beowulf, killing it.

"Retreat!" Emilio shouted.

The guards heeded his order and ran for the entrance. However, the Beowulves gave chase, rushing from all angles.

Unfortunate for the Grimm, Emilio was offering cover fire, allowing the other guards to make it. Still, he had to conserve his dust.

In time, the other guards were outside of the armory. Seeing this, Emilio followed suit with the Grimm on his tail. With an aura-increased leap, he widened the distance between them and made it to the entrance. He turned around and took an arrow from his quiver. He pulls the arrow back and fires. Soon, the arrow hits the floor and a large cluster of ice forms, blocking the entrance.
