Chapter 5 - Stubborn Ronald

Start from the beginning

After hours of getting ready everyone was in their costumes with their make ups and props, music was already playing on the big top outside of the house. The Potters were dresses as vampires, Ron and Hermione as Ms. and Mr. monster of Frankenstein, Molly was already ready in her costume hours ago, and Arthur was dressed as a wizard following the muggle stereotype. Jane and Teddy were dressed as werewolves, not too much hairy cause neither the young woman nor the child liked having so many fake hair attached to their body.

Machine sounds could be heard coming from the sky, the Weasley brothers were getting back home one by one. First was Bill with his Wife Fleur and their three kids, Victoria, Domeneque and the new born Louis, all dressed as mummies. Second came George, his wife Angelina and their 2 years old Fred II, on brooms, probably George's idea to make her mother have a heart attack, all dressed as Devils. And last, after many exhausting tries from Jane, Percy, his wife Audrey and their two kids Molly II and Lucy appeared with their own car, they too came down from the sky, all dressed as Scarecrows.

Everyone was on time or few minutes late, the only people not really on time were the Malfoys and it was kinda expected due to Astoria pregnancy. She started to become more worried about moving and being active after she entered the third trimester. That's why Jane proposed her to have Arthur come and get them, after some refusal Astoria agreed and Mr.Weasley was fast to accept with his positivity.

"It's alright let's start to party before the kids fall asleep" Jane giggled looking at the kids sitting one beside the other, getting bored of waiting.

"YEEE!" The kids yelled all together, at least those who could, and started going inside the big top with their parents. The party was kinda starting at this point, Jane was outside watching her family through the transparent walls of the plastic shed. She felt like the days after the war were she could literally taste happiness after such a tragic happening.

Sounds from the sky distracted her and she turned around looking up, spotting the shimmering of the Weasley's car slowly approaching. This could be the first step to have peace, at least between this two/three families.

The small gathering was going well, the kids were happy, the adults were having fun joking about the costumes and all, surprisingly mostly everyone was alright with the presence of the Malfoys (they dressed as ghosts), so much they even started to have conversations with them. Ron had some grumpy remarks now and then but for the time the kids had to go to sleep he was accepting enough.

"Oh i can't remember the last time i had so much fun at a party." Fleur laughed pulling a band-aid falling from her arm. Jane laughed too and tried to help her re-bandage her arm. Molly was taking the big top down and making all the chairs and tables run inside the house in a storage, the big storage room where they kept everything for this occasions. Everyone else was getting inside the Burrow, Jane preparing some tea, coffee or hot chocolate to battle the cold of the night.

"I think is time for us to go back home." Said Astoria after nearly an hour of chattering.

"It's nearly 1 am darling are you sure u want to travel back now? You can't even apparate. We can always arrange one room, if it's alright with you." Astoria smiled she looked at Narcissa and she hesitated but remembered a talk she had with Jane few days after Andromeda's funeral:

"It would be easier to understand them if you tried to put yourself in their situation."

So she looked at her son, he too was waiting for the answer. She nodded looking back at Astoria. "If we are not bothering and if we are invited then i think it can be a good solution." she said, Molly nodded, she was starting to understand Jane's plan of at least bring this two families to a common ground instead of having snarly little jokes battles every time they met in Diagon Alley.

After another few minutes of chattering Arthur stood up announcing that, because of his old age, he needed to head to bed. Quite laughs filled the room at the statement but slowly everyone started going up in their rooms, leaving Ron, Molly, Jane and the Malfoys.

"Ok here we go, you are gonna stay on Charlie's room, it has not been used for a lot of years now, i put up a second bad for you Narcissa, if it's ok for all of u to sleep in the same room." Said Molly coming down the stairs.

"First room up here so Astoria doesn't have to climb up the tower" Molly smiled gently.

"Thank you very much." Said Draco, he hadn't talked a lot all night, he spent more time smiling looking at his wife having finally a bit of fun. Astoria and Narcissa started going up in the room, Draco leaving them inside so they could get ready calmly together.

Ron was clearing the coffee table in the living room and Draco came in to help while Jane washed by hand the last cups.

"I don't know what you told to Jane to make her trust you and all, but you better stay in line cause i am way more difficult to crack then her." Ron said in a threatening voice. Draco looked at him.

"I have nothing to prove to you." He stood up and dusted his pants a little, his ghost make up was cleaned in three second with magic.

"I'm not my dad." and Ron looked at him going into the kitchen leaving the cloth he used to clean up the coffee table beside Jane.

Ron puffed out a laugh and got up walking in the kitchen, he called Jane to get her attention and threw the rag at her to catch.

"I'm going up to sleep, have fun with blondy here." Jane caught the rag and sent him a death glare.

"Goodnight Ronald." She said with her eyebrows furrowed in a judging expression. Ron glanced at both of them

"Goodnight." He finally said pressing his lips together in a awkward look.

Molly came by to check that everything was decent, and stuff were cleaned.

"Why do u always clean the dishes by hand love?" She asked to Jane while swinging her wand to make the chairs pull themself under the table.

"I don't know, i enjoy doing it the muggle way, i have time and i think it can be kinda relaxing." Molly nodded.

"Fair enough, i'm going to sleep too. Oh Draco, don't listen to my son Ron, he'll come around eventually." She waved at the two youngster and they wished her goodnight in unison.

The last two people on the ground floor were pretty quite, Jane didn't mind the silence and Draco didn't know what to say, he didn't even know why he felt so awkward around her. Maybe it was because out of everyone she tried her best to help him and his family.

"The red head is never going to stop hatting me isn't he?" Draco asked sighing, leaning on the counter beside the kitchen sink were Jane was just done washing.

"Give him time, he's the most stubborn of all of us, and your aunt didn't really treat his wife in the best royal way." She replied washing her hand one last time. They stayed there in the silence for a couple of minutes more, she was looking outside at the half moon shining in the night.

"Why are you doing this?."
