I am 17 and today is my birthday, I was born September 14, 2004 when I was born I had a power I could see how long time people had left to live. I was seven when my family found out.
~back when I was seven~
"Good morning hun" my grandma said while drinking her morning tea. "Grandma please tell me bye before 10 tomorrow" I said. "Sweetie what are you talking about" my mom said with a confused look on her face. "Grandma is going to pass away tomorrow at ten o-clock" I said. They all looked at me with shock, they shrugged and went on with their day. That night I was getting ready for bed and told my grandma goodnight. She laughed and said the same. I woke up to my mother screaming my dad ran in and told me to go back to bed. When I woke up grandma and mom was gone. I asked dad where they were and he said they were at the hospital. I checked the time and it was 9:50 I was eating breakfast when my dad got a call. "Hey hun what's wrong" he said with worry "mom is gone" she said with a crack in her voice. My dad looked at the clock and it was exactly ten o-clock. He looked at me with shock in his eyes. The same thing happened with my grandpa. I was then diagnosed with a special gift only 5% of people in the world have.
~now back to present day~
When my family found out they figured this could make us a lot of money since we are what you would consider dirt poor. They bought a place with their savings and wasted no time getting started. People came from all over just to meet me. Even thought having this power has its pros it also has a lot of cons. It leaves a lot of pressure on me, when people came and did not have long left it broke my heart to tell them. Many people gave me nasty looks and treated me differently, I never went to school because all they did was make me work. This has been going on for years. I was excited because I was turning eighteen today. As I was getting ready, i realized I never longed to see how long I had left. I looked towards the mirror without any worry but that suddenly changed when I saw my time. I had ten second left I was scared out of my mind what was going to happen to me how was I going to die. I was taken away from my thoughts when I heard loud bangs on my door. I was star struck, they broke open the door and ran towards me. I saw my dad the last thing he said to me broke my heart. "Thank you for all the money we won't be needing you anymore." I had hit the ground blood streaming out of my stomach my dad stabbed me... how could he. My mom walked in after him "You finally did the deed, good job honey". I couldn't believe it my family hated me. I saw a bright light emerge from no where I followed it and it lead me to gates they were golden with beautiful designs on them. They opened and I saw the one person I could always count on. "Grandma"? I said tears streaming down my face. I ran and and jumped into her arms. She hugged me tightly and whispered in my ear "I'm so sorry about them they were awful dear, now you will be safe up here with me". By now I was starting to calm down. I always thought a building with a roof over it was called home but being in my grandmas arms was the closest thing I've felt to home.
