In the Land of Kishimoto an unknown life form brought about the birth of Gliphs. Horrible monsters feeding on humans not only to stay alive but just for the pleasure. But the birth of the Gliphs emitted energy completely changing the humans environment. This changed the humans genetics that's how the first child with magic appeared. We call them Miracles.
90% of humans get their powers on their 13th birthday. These powers could be anything, basic elements, extra intelligence, changes to physical appearances, they can also be useful, useless or used for good or bad... 9% of the humans powers are delayed a week or so. 1% of humans powers don't come at all. This brings us to this stories main character, Daichi Omokage, who unfortunately falls under the 1% of people that don't get Magic at all. He lives in the Northern side of Kishimoto in a small town called Kaltun. Yet again Daichi is up at late hours re-searching the cause of him not having powers at 14 years old.
"AUGH! This is so frustrating!" Shouts Daichi from his room.
"Everything okay..?" said Hina, Daichi's mum, "You can't keep doing this late at night. You must understand that you are not the only person with this problem."
"NO MUM! EVERYTHING HAS ALWAYS GONE WRONG FOR ME, STARTING WITH THIS STUPID MARK ON MY FOREHEAD, GETTING BULLIED FOR IT AND NOW GETTING BULLIED FOR A WHOLE OTHER REASON! I'll never be normal..."
"Get some rest honey." comforted Hina.
The next day...
"Morning mum!" shouted Daichi while sprinting down the steps, skipping 1 each time.
"Oooo, nice to see someone excited for school. How's your sleep?"
"Good, thanks. I dreamt about defeating a Gliph with my bare fists. I think it's a sign."
"Oh really? A sign of what?"
"Well... I thought it could mean that- that I'd stand up to the bullies at school..."
"I guess you'll have to go and find out! Your toast slice is in the kitchen!" said Hina while walking into the lounge. "Have a great day! Love you!"
"Love you too mum!" said Daichi while grabbing his slice of toast and heading out the front door.
Daichi didn't think that he'd actually stand up to the bullies. After all, he only said that to make his mum happy. He despised school and everyone in there. The worst bit is that the only way to get out of school was to go on a mission to the South of Kishimoto - Where the majority of the Gliphs are. The base mission is to retake the South but because of the struggle for years, depending on the amount of Gliphs you've killed the bigger the reward you'd get when returning to your region.
"Good Morning Omokage! Have a seat please." Asked Mrs Brown.
"Morning." Daichi said keeping his head down.
"Hey guys! Look, it's the magicless freak." shouted Yakuza, Daichi's main bully.
Yakuza bent down to Daichi's level.
"So you still have the guts to come back here everyday huh?" whispered yakuza in his ear. He went back to his normal level and chuckled as he walked back to his seat.
Daichi didn't let this get to his head. Luckily, the rest of the day went quicker. Daichi rushed home as he always did. This is because if Yakuza saw him after school hours, he'd get a lot more physical along with his insults.
"Tch. Magicless Freak. He uses the same line every time. I wonder when he is going to come up with something new." Daichi muttered to himself.
"Hey son, How was your day at..." Hina was interrupted by the stomping of Daichi's feet going up the stairs. She made an assumption that it hadn't gone so good and she was right to assume such things.
