The wind blew in his hair as the cold winter breeze mixed with the chilling winds swept by him.
The scent of salt filled the air as the roar of the experimental aircraft came to life. As well as
being on an experimental Aircraft Carrier it was going to be the first new weapon the Empire of
Regonia has brought into play since the start of the war and it's expected to turn the tide of the
War. "Cold one today Isnt it David."
"Too cold, Even for a bat like you, hey?" David chuckled. David was young, Barely 24, He had
watched the war since he was in highschool and was finally happy to be helping his country,
The sound of aircraft engines roared overhead as planes went to and fro. "Either way, I hope
you got a good night's rest old man. We're departing today." The older man chuckled
"Alright son, Stay safe." The older man walked off, As David picked up a radio, talking into it.
"This is Bridge to Ship, Get us to where we need to go guys." The ship departed, Almost hitting
an oil tanker on it's way out the mighty ship steamed through the turquoise blue waters of the
eastern sea, Three federation aircraft zoomed overhead, A sailor made a remark "Cowards
don't want to join the war. All they've done is hide for the past ten years."
"Those planes looked armed though, We might want to keep our guards up. We don't know
whose side they're on." Another sailor remarked, David simply ignoring their remarks and
continuing forward. A while later he receives a message from the Flight Deck "Those
planes...Those were Federation aircraft, what were they doing here?"
"I don't know, Just keep your heads up for any new developments alright." David responds,
"Roger that cap" The radio goes silent. Only the faint buzz and the chatter of sailors remained,
David could make out the mummers. "I heard that Verditonia had crushed both Reberia and
Maylia! How are we going to win!"
"I wouldn't worry about that, Just think of your wives back home, We're doing this for them. They
bombed our capital first don't forget that." The chatter grew quiet as everyone noticed the
captain, only faint whispers could be heard as he walked across the room. All but one stayed
quiet. "Are we gon' die Cap?" David looked up to see who said that, It was a boy, No older than
17. "I don't know. But don't stress about that alright. I won't let anything happen to you, to all of
you. You will all see your wives again. I will promise you that" David got up on a table "Those
who don't make it back will never be forgotten. And will live on as heroes! Remember what we
are fighting for! Your families depend on us to give them freedom! Our empire has never lost a
war! And we must make sure that the ones who have died live on and are not forgotten!" The
crowd let out a cheer, one man looked away and mumbled under his breath
"Damn kids..."
"What was that?" David looked down from the table, The crowd went silent, all turning to look at
