Today is My mom's birthday and it is also my favorite time of year

The fall...because that means Halloween and parties with my friends

This means dressing up and twerking at every stop light and hopping into random clubs to dance because we can

It also means thanksgiving and I love thanksgiving ...family I haven't seen in a while and some good seasoned soul food

Yes, I love this time of year a lot ...

I shower and decide to put my locs into some space buns and then I do my edges

I made myself some pancakes and bacon and then I drank my berry- spicy smoothie (a recipe I made up)

1. Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, and Blackberries
2. Lime, Cayenne pepper, Chamoy and Tajín
3. yogurt, almond milk, and ice

I grabbed my purse and walked out the door and smiled at my outfit

It was a good 79 degrees today and It was so hot I probably should have worn a skirt

I go downstairs and I see Marquis walking blue ...it was more like blue walking Marquis because he seemed tired

I walked up to him and waved until he focused on my face

Sierra: hey, are you okay?

He stared at me for a second and then he nodded his head

Marquis: Just high ma, don't worry

Then he just left and I was really worried because of Blue

Then I remembered he is still a stranger and stopped being nosey

I left and went to the corner store gift palace to buy some flowers and balloons

Then I went to I made a card and I drew some flowers on it ...I really am an artist out here

I went to her house and saw my sisters setting up

The oldest ( Tyra) (24) *turning 25 in two weeks*
The middle ( Sierra) (20)
The youngest ( Kirya) ( 17)

I gave them both hugs and decided to go to the backyard to see dad

Sierra: hey dad

Dad(Tyreece): Hey little lady how have you been

I never really visit anymore and I don't know why but I realized I only really come around on birthdays and holidays

I hugged him tight and noticed the grill going in the back and I smiled

I helped my sisters set up and then I went and played her favorite songs on the stereo speakers

I smelled the grilled eggplant and my stomach growled ...I had breakfast but I was still hungry and we won't eat until 8 something and it is only 10am

Ugh omg I am going to be so hungry lord have mercy on my soul

It was 2:00pm now I was sitting on the couch talking to my sisters when My aunts and uncles walked in with my nana

I got up and ran to hug her and she squeezed my cheeks as she cussed me out about not visiting 

I apologized and promised to try harder, especially with her and my mom, I would hate to waste any more time ...with their ages ...you just never know

My mom has two sisters and 3 brothers, her mom married twice but all her kids have the same dad

3rd: Sheryll( 1st aunt) (39)

4th: Drake(2nd uncle)(39) (Sheryll is his twin)
5th: Faith(2nd aunt)(37)
6th: Kyrie(3rd uncle) (34)

Some of my cousins came but not all of them and I wanted to be upset but they live all the way in texas so I kinda can't be

Meanwhile, we all live in South Carolina and we don't have a whole lot of family here

My dad is only older than my mom by like 3 years so everything evened out

Growing up with two other sister's was hard , but not really I am very close with them and we tell each other everything

My mom is out getting pampered and dolled up at my salon and Tyra's spa

She had some very business ready girls, I will tell you that much. My little sister even wants to open up her own tattoo/ piercing shop

So yea like I said some business ready girls

It was 4pm and we only had four more hours to go I was very excited to see my mom and happy to eat this food

Tonight would be a feast

My sisters and I were in charge of fruit salad, potato salad, and macaroni salad

My aunts were in charge of the candy yams, pineapple pound cakes, and banana pudding

My uncles had the seafood(shrimp and crawfish), chicken, and the ham

My cousins had the veggies and the cabbage, dirty rice, and homefries

My dad was in charge of the  hotdogs, loaded fries, and ribs

Now it is 6pm and only two more hours to go so we get everything ready and we coordinate who is going to yell out surprise and reveal all the decorations

Then we all move our cars out the driveway so it can seem like we're not here

We all turned off our phones completely

When we left the house so she couldn't track our locations after that

My dad live here so he drove to the barbershop and then his friends fish and bait shop then turned it off like he didn't go back to the house

Everything is ready and it is now 7pm and she will be home at exactly 8pm and not a minute later

We unplugged the light router's so she can't turn the lights on and see everything

At 8pm we heard a car pull and someone was laughing and then it got quiet

Iyana: now where in the hell are they at?

Iyana: this damn light not working again ...no don't tell me they forgot

Iyana: lemme call Tyra

Straight to voicemail 

Iyana: the hell ...okay maybe Sierra ...nope what the hell?!!

I quietly counted to three and everyone jumped up and yelled surprise!!

The lights came on and my mom started to cry and Tyra and I ran to hug her

Dad: honey we would never forget

Mom: aww

Yhey hugged and kissed

Sierra: eww

My sister kicked me playfully

Mom: okay let's eat

We ate and danced and played cards and I really think she enjoyed her birthday 

My sister went to go spend the night with my aunt Sheryll and our cousins so mom and dad could be alone for the rest of the night

I went back home and saw Marquis downstairs sitting on the bench

Sierra: Marquis?

Marquis: hey I just wanted to apologize

Sierra: for what?

Marquis: earlier this morning ...I'm sorry if I worried you

Sierra: oh well yea I was worried but it's okay 

Marquis: yea but um that's it really

Sierra: okay well then goodnight

Marquis: Goodnight Sierra
