Multiple People of the Same Address

If multiple relatives are in the same category, they will be assigned numbers by order of birth. Examples: If you have 3 older brothers the oldest would be "da-ge," the second oldest "er-ge," the third oldest "san-ge." In english it would sound like 1st brother, 2nd brother, 3rd brother. If you are the oldest brother and had two younger brothers you would call the oldest of your two younger brothers "er-di" and the youngest "san-di."

Diminuitives

Xiao- diminutive prefix meaning little.
-er: added to the end off a name expresses affection
A-: diminutive prefix added usually to monosyllabic names or a single syllable of a two syllable name. It has friendly and affectionate connotations.
Doubling a syllable of someone's name creates a cute childish nickname.

Other Terms of Address

Gongzi: Usually translated as "master" or "young master". Think term of respect rather than master versus servant. (It is also how a servant would refer to their master in this story, but unlikely you will see this usage in "Backlash".)
Guniang: feminine version of gongzi
Qianbei: Polite address for someone who is your senior
Xiansheng: Teacher/Sir but with a heavier connotation of respect. Within Cloud Recesses this exclusively refers to Lan Qiren.
Zongzhu: Sect Leader (I will probably use the english translation throughout this story.)
Shifu: Martial arts teacher/master
Laozu: grandmaster, like the progenitor or founder of a sect or cultivation path

Useful Notes

-Jun: Suffix meaning lord.
-Zun: Suffix meaning esteemed/venerable. More respectful than "-jun".

Weiqi - a strategy game also known as Go
Jinbu - an accessory worn at the waist. There are many different designs. They can include jade pendants, precious metals, beads, and tassels. These were worn by both men and women.

Courtesy Names

Courtesy Names are given when an individual comes of age. It is usually a male only tradition. In Mo Dao Zu Shi characters seem to receive their courtesy names as young as fifteen. Addressing someone by their birth name after they have received their courtesy name is disrespectful unless you are their elder, spouse, or close friends.

Sect Names

Sect names are composed of two parts. The second part is the surname name of the Clan that leads the sect. The first part is the name of the area the sect resides in. (Example: The GusuLan Sect is led by the Lan Clan and is based in Gusu.)

Surnames after marriage

A spouse does not change their last name when they get married. They retain their original surname. Example: Yu Ziyuan's last name remains "Yu" after getting married. Where things get a little weird is when going by Yu-furen (Madam Yu). Usually she would be addressed as the Madam of the Jiang clan. The same way Lan Wangji's mother was Madam Lan, and Jin Zixuan's mother was Madam Jin. Their surnames don't change, but this title is referring to their status as the wife of the respective clan leaders.
