"You. got. lost." A pause between every word, though phrased as a question he was clearly talking to himself. Going over and contemplating my words over in his mind. "Well that's a perfectly logical reason!" He suddenly beamed, making me extremely confused at the sudden change of tone.

"You're not-" I contemplated whether or not I should continue my sentence "You're not mad anymore?" I ask hesitantly.

"Of course not! It's not your fault we haven't shown you your way around the casino." He says with a lopsided smile.

"Thank.. You?"

"You're welcome!"

I suddenly thought "Wait a minute, what did you think was my reasoning for being late?"

"Thought you were trying to escape!" He says happily.

"Why was that your first thought?"

"Wow, I'm half drunk and even I think that that's a stupid question."

"Rude"

"But true!" He cheerfully shoots back.

"So what now?" He checks his watch.

"Bedtime!" He beams.

"I thought the Casino ran till one in the morning?"

"Well yeah duh, I meant it's your bedtime kiddo!"

My cheeks tinge red from embarrassment "I may legally be a kid still but, that's no reason to treat me like one!"

"Listen kid, child, buddy, chum, pal as much as I don't respect the law, I am still responsible- '' I hear someone cough in doubt at this and see Sora standing behind Chip. He lets out a small scream of surprise, a few guests turn to look but no more than a few seconds.

Chip puts a hand over what I can only assume to be his racing heart and lets out a shaky breath. "Sora! Ya scared me." He drags out the 'a' in 'Sora' and 'Ya'.

"I didn't notice." She said neutral as ever, reminding of Rainbow and making me curious at what they were doing at this exact moment.

"I thought you left."

"After you shut the door in my face, you thought I was gonna let you off the hook for that?"

"Uhhhh, I was drunk." Chip says, hesitance present in his voice.

"Yeah sure, but there is one more thing about the competition." Chip perks up at this information, his posture and expression becoming more serious. "It isn't just across regions but, it's also only the tops in every region that will be competing."

"Ah so we get an actual challenge this year?" He says a small and mischievous smirk growing on his face.

"Honoured, you think of me as a challenge."

"Who says I was talking about you?" His smirk grew by the second.

Sora lets out a frustrated sigh and shakes her head slightly in disapproval, like a parent finding out their child did something they told them not to do again.

"You know what, I don't have the energy to deal with you right now." She turns on her heel and heads for the exit.

"Sora nuuuu come back." If he was half drunk before, now he's completely gone.

My legs seem to develop a mind of their own and follow the pair back to the exit doors which isn't too far a trek.

"Hey goat kid-" I subconsciously move my arms and hands to cover my horns and ears and a soft pink dusts my cheeks from embarrassment "Either you or get one of your friends to help the drunk hobo out."

"I'm not a hobo!" Chip's voice cracking slightly.

Sora swiftly opens the door and proceeds to slam it in Chip's face. From behind we can hear "Revenge for earlier!" being shouted at. Chip promptly flips her off and an annoyed expression settles on his face. I quickly guide his very rude arm and hand back down to his side instead of proudly on display for any guest to see.

I grab Chip's wrist and guide him through the crowd. I expected some kind of protest, maybe him telling me that he could walk by himself or just rip his wrist from my grasp. I was half in disbelief this man is so drunk that he's letting my dumb ass drag him around, I mean this was the same man who made me cower by simply looking at me. To say I felt somewhat prideful that I was the one dragging him around would be a bit of an understatement.

I kept navigating my way through the crowds hoping to find one of the three responsible people to take this burden of dragging Chip around off my shoulders.
