I catch it and slide the coaster underneath it quickly and gently place it down. I look back up at Amara whose jaw slightly dropped before grinning widely and giving a small clap. Did I do that just to flex in front of her... Well, I mean, maybe, possibly, probably, yeah, definitely, yes.
I give a joking bow, she gently takes the drinks in her hands.
"I didn't know you could do such tricks! What if you dropped it?" She sipped it slowly, her eyes suddenly burst wide open, a grin settling itself on her face. "Where did you learn to make this?"
"First of all I've never dropped a glass in my life, and there are a lot more ticks I can do then a simple toss! Secondly, it's a secret." I add with a wink. I swear I saw a slight purple hue come across her face but I couldn't be too sure.
"Jaza." A monotone suddenly interrupted our conversation and one I recognised all too well "What are you doing? Do you know what time it is?" Despite the monotone voice their eyes blazed with fury.
"Uh 7:30?"
"Check the clock."
I glance over and my eyes widen at 8:00. I nervously look back at Rainbow, the same blank expression still pissed off fury hiding behind their amber eyes.
"The guest could be here any minute and you're over flir-" My eyes widened in panic silently communicating to them to shut up.
They cough "You're over here chit chatting with Ms. Amara."
"Rainbow, I told you Amara is just fine, no need to be formal." She politely waves off.
"Apologise Amara." Their gaze snaps back to me "Get the bar ready." They spin around and start walking away and back to the guests, when Amara calls out.
"W-wait what about the flower load?"
"Everything is under control. I checked with one of your employees and everything is in order. They're beautiful as ever. Thank you for providing us with them once again." Rainbow gives a slight bow.
"It's no problem really! I'm glad you like them." Amara gives a sweet smile, Rainbow just gives a short nod back and they're off again doing, I don't know, waiter stuff? Amara leaves shortly after waving goodbye and telling me 'see you soon' gods I hoped so.
I turn back around and get everything ready, checking ingredients and setting out the menus awaiting this 'special guest'. They better be worth it cause it's their fault my conversation with Amara had to come to an end.
♧Rainbow's: POV♧
Why the hell is it that I do the most work around here? I'm supposed to be the fucking waiter! Instead I'm babysitting a bunch of quote on quote adults. I let out an angry sigh, then took a deep breath in and out. 'Stay calm just stay calm' I keep telling myself but gods do they make it difficult to stay that way sometimes. Alway wonder how my life would've turned out if Chip had lost that bet... Fucking traitors.
This night couldn't go any better, Sash is having a pissy day and doesn't want to talk to Chip but needs to in order to follow instructions for this illusive 'special guest', Chubby is being mysterious and hasn't really talked to anyone after the morning incident, then there is Jaza whose off flirting with Amara being the simp that they are and finally Miracle where in gods names is she? Haven't seen her since Sash's office, could she have run away, no definitely not she would have to have a screw loose to even think of doing something like that!
I went around tables, the noises of dice hitting the table, drunk laughter, slot machines ringing and the soft noise of cards being dealt. I picked up glasses, some empty, others still had a bit of liquor left at the bottom, my eyes darting to the main area's doors every once in a while.
I was starting to wonder if this 'special guest' was ever going to show up, what did Chip even want with them? Probably a partnership of some sort if they were competition he would've told us that there was a task tonight but, no nothing, not a brief mention of a slight hint. It was just there is going to be a special guest tonight that he needs to talk to.
I placed two empty glasses on my tray ready to take it back to the bar for a wash until a guest waves me over. They ask for two Margaritas and three Martinis, I set my tray down and pull out my notepad jotting down the order quickly. I pick my tray up with one hand and notepad in the other, when out of the corner of my eye I see Sash heading up to the lobby, I make a mental note and continue my journey to the bar where I see Jaza working.
They were wiping a few glasses and grabbing ingredients here and there setting them out on their counter.
"I got a few orders." I state calmly, I saw their ears perk up at the sound of my voice. They motioned to me to read them out without turning around to face me 'rude.' "Two Margaritas and three Martinis."
They send me a thumbs up still not facing me, I set the tray down on the counter gently removing the glasses off of it one by one.
"I'm sorry I interrupted your flirting session." Jaza whipped around and faced me with a gentle pink hue setting on her face and eyes wide like they had seen a ghost.
"F-flirting session?"
"That's the first thing you say to me? Thank you for finally turning around by the way." Sarcasm dripped from my voice. They don't respond, it's starting to piss me off slightly though I would remain the bigger person and not let my emotions take control.
"M'sorry" They mumbled, I heard it but maybe I did want to be slightly petty. Afterall what's the fun in always being so serious?
"What was that?" I asked innocently, trying to keep my voice monotone.
"Sorry..." I heard much more clearly but I didn't want my fun to end just yet.
"Still didn't quite catch that?"
"Oh you heard me just fine!" Their voice raised a few octaves though nothing to garner the attention of everyone. This time I remained silent, staring at them with a gaze mimicking calmness but a closer look would reveal something more... intimidating.
"Fine I'm Sorry!" Everyone's gaze snapped towards Jaza whose face was turning red from the sudden attention.
"See, now was that so hard?" I cooed, Jaza turns around and grumbles something under their breath. They turn back around to hand me the drinks on a tray, when Chubby suddenly runs up to us and almost slams into the bar counter.
She pants and beads of sweat were collecting on her forehead "Chip *pant* wants all of us to *pant* meet the special *pant* guest."
"All of us?" I inquire, Chubby just nods her head furiously. She suddenly stops, eyes darting between me and Jaza.
"Where is Miracle?" I could see Jaza's face drain slightly "Where is she?" Chubby hissed.
"I uh haven't seen her since Sash's office, I left and don't know what happened after."
"Well go find her now." I simply nodded my head and walked away, whilst Jaza scrambled out of the bar and rushed around nearly tripping on the way out.
This might take awhile...
