-I want to kiss you.

I said that without realizing it. She was staring at me with those sea eyes. Her lips looked so soft, maybe she'd tasted like peach? Or like apple juice? Something sweet, and soft, just like her.

-What? She muttered. Her voice trembling, an incredulous smile on her lips.

-I- I am in love with you. Well, I guess I, no. I know am in love with you. From the depths of my being, I know I love you more than anything.

There was a silence of a few seconds, during which she seemed to think scrupulously about her next words.

-Edith, do you realize what you're saying? She let out an embarrassed laugh.

-I know that sounds crazy, but- I bite my bottom lip before turning my head to watch my family's house at the bottom of the hill where we were. You know what ? You're right, you're always right. It's just a stupid thought of mine-

I couldn't help myself and let out a laugh. She smiles at me.

-I just don't understand... You're in love with me ?

Don't know why, but I couldn't open my mouth.

I am so stupid.

She closed her book and stand up.

-I am not sure to understand mine, neither. She looked at the night sky. Her hands holding her book on her back, I could read the title The little mermaid by Christian Andersen. I heard her voice but didn't listen to it.

-Edith ?

I stand up. I put my hands on her shoulders. Surprised, she let her book falls on the grass. She turned around to look at me.

Her eyes. Sometimes, I want to fall in them, I want to swim dip inside this fantastic ocean. I want to taste on my tongue the salty water. I want to watch the colorful fish around me, I want to hear the whales sing. I want to be with her, I want to kiss her, I want... her.

-Do you think I'm crazy ? I asked.

-I think both of us are fucking crazy.

She put her lips on mine.
