Colorful houses and happy dancing people make their way into your sight as you take a stroll through the unknown town, frequently pausing to stare in awe at all the enchanting places your eyes get to know. Most of the time with a big goofy smile on your face. Moving here was the best decision my parents ever made, well, the best decision áfter having me that is. And my sister ofcourse.
In, next to, on top of every house and on every very street, flowers are used as decoration. You already rejected Encanto as the name of the town, in your eyes Flowertown fits so much better. Your feet come to a stop as you kneel down to gently lift up a rather big daisy that's blessed with a light blue color.
Your hands travel to the stem and spin the flower around for a few seconds. Such a pretty flower... A smirk appears on your face as you start to move the flower towards your temple. The stem pokes through your hair and settles behind your ear, making only the blue petals visible.
Content with the newly found decoration, you get up and continue your mission to explore everything the town has to offer.
And so, you come across a market. Loud chattering can be heard and the happy laughs that travel to your ears make you smile. On one side, a tall man with broad shoulders and brown hair is selling fish. There is quite a long row of people at his stall. 'They can't die if they're already dead, can't die if they're already dead...' A woman keeps on mumbling the same thing over and over as you pass by. That's...interesting.
On the other side, another man is selling fabrics of all kinds: yellow, purple, green, spotted, striped, chequered...A hat made of straw is settled on top of the man's dark coloured hair and he wears a very content smile. To all people coming by, he tries to sell a piece of the soft clothing material. And most of the time, he succeeds. 'Señora! I réally think that you should take this beautiful blue piece of heaven, it matches your eyes and everyone will be stunned by whatever you make out of it!' Flattery appears to be thé way to go on a market.
The woman standing at his stall has short, red, curly hair and is pretty tall. Her body is wrapped in a light brown dress. She seems to be thinking about the man's remark for a little while, squeezing her eyes at the fabric he's pointing at. 'Mmm...You really think so?' The man quickly nods in response, a smile on his face. The woman yanks the blue material from its stocking place and stretches it out, one side in one hand and the other in the other one. She looks closely at it, examining every inch. 'You think that, I should put myself out there, wearing this piece of garbage?' Oh- So much for flattery.
The man's eyes widen and for a moment he looks like he's about to cry. But he quickly takes a hold of himself and switches to a rather angry expression instead. His hands take a tight grip on the soft, blue fabric, pulling it towards him. 'No one...NO ONE! Insults my béautiful works of art!' He says through gritted teeth, his eyes narrowed at the woman, who's wearing a nasty smirk. He pulls the clothing material fully to him now, yanking it out of the grip of the lady.
She stumbles a bit backwards, but the smirk remains. Her eyes narrow a bit, matching the vibe her lips give. Pretending as if she's dusting herself of, she says: 'Stop trying to convince yourself that you and your pathetic little fabric stall have the slightest of worth. Not even the Madrigals would buy your beautiful works of art.' She scoffs at the last part, making it even more sarcastic than it already sounds.
The man, who turned his back on her when he took back his fabric, turns towards her as quickly as she starts to fire insult after insult upon him. 'YOU! GET AWAY FROM MY SHOP!!' He points at the woman, anger and irritation injected in his voice. There is a small undertone of sadness that can be heard if you listen closely. A few of the townspeople have gathered around the two fighting adults, curious for what will happen.
'Ah! Come to see the show?' the woman asks the people around her, throwing her hands in the air and grinning from ear to ear. No one responds.
Since the beginning of the whole thing, you've been standing still at a stall with jewelry. Now, well now you want to get out of here. What if I get involved? Mom wouldn't be very happy about that... The woman behind the counter has her full attention pinned to the fabric stall, the place where all the chaos is happening now. In front of her lay necklaces, bracelets, earrings, headbands...So many treasure in one place.
One particular necklace catches your eyes: one with a candle. It seems to be glowing, as if the small fire on top of it really is burning. You look up at the lady again and see her eyes still being glued to the angry fabric man. She isn't looking anyway...
You don't exactly know why you do it, but in a heartbeat you snatch the necklace of the counter and run away, quickly putting it on. Focus, focus is important, I don't want to-
'Hey! Watch out!' 'We were here first!!' You stumble through some people that get in the way as you try to keep on running.
The next moment you get a proper look of where you're going again, you see the fabric man and the mean lady standing right in front of you.
'How nice! A new contestant!' The women almost jumps towards you and happily claps her hands. Her hair softly swings back and forth, tickling her face. You notice that her voice sounds slightly of, as if she's trying to mimic it and it isn't her own. But that's ridiculous, why would she do that? You shake your head at the thought and slightly dust yourself of from all the people you just ran into. Who knows what germs they gave me.
The woman looks hopefully at you, expecting something, a reaction probably. 'Contestant? This isn't gonna be a...a fight right?' You hestitantly ask, laughing nervously.
The hope and cheerfullness fades out of the women's face and she looks from the angry man to you, to the people surrounding you and back at you again.
She lets out a displeased hum and turns towards the man, who's still pretty darn pissed of. 'I swear, if you dare to pull something-' She quickly grabs a green piece of fabric and pushes everyone in her way on the ground, sprinting away and leaving you behind. 'Follow me!' She yells over her shoulder.
You look around and feel all eyes on you now, including the ones of the angry man. 'So...you're helping that puta?' He spits out the last part.
Damnit why did she have to say that?? You gulp as the people around you give you nasty glares. There is almost nothing left of the kindness that seemed to be luminating from their eyes when you saw them dancing. They are starting to close in on you and you feel like a deer surrounded by wolves. Trapped.
Your eyes quickly shoot from one place to the other, searching for an exit. 'I uhh...Gotta blast!' And with that you run through the small gap where no one is standing, going the same way the lady went just a few seconds ago.
