As I pulled up to school my friends (Immortal and Mortal) crowded around me.
"I can't wait to meet her!" Jane exclaimed, we all laughed
"Well you won't have to wait much longer, she's just pulled up." I stated, we all looked around at her. She was clearly nervous as she shuffled along, all eyes on her.
"I'm going to go over." Jane said determined as she began to walk off, the other girls following her leaving me with the Cullens.
"I can't read her thoughts..." Edward muttered, confused
"I can but not very well." I replied, I could only get the basics about her; name, age, species etc.
"What can you get?" He asked me
"Just the basics; name, age, species etc, not much - I did get get a power from her which explains it though..." I answered
"What is she?" Alice broke in
"A shield." I responded before the bell rung and we all went to our first class. I had AP History.
Three classes later and I was meeting up with my group in the lunch hall with the new edition.
"Bella this is Belladonna." Mary introduced us, "Dona this is Bella."
"Hi." She muttered, clearly overwhelmed.
"Hello! It's nice to meet you." I replied, smiling, a small smile was my only response.
Our comfortable silence was broken with an outbreak of whispers and Bella's question.
"Who are they?" We looked over at who she was asking about.
"The Cullens." Anna says
"Their...um, Doctor and Mrs Cullens foster kids." Jane continues "They moved down from Alaska like a few months ago."
"They kinda keep to themselves - except Dona of coarse she's the only one not being fostered they talk to." Catherine adds
"Yeah, because they're all together, like together-together." Rose continues "The blonde girl - that's Rosalie - and the big dark-haired guy - Emmett - Their like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal."
"Rose! It's not like their actually related." Mary scolds
"Yeah but they live together. It's weird. And, ok, the little dark haired girl's Alice she's really weird and she's with Jasper the blonde one who always looks like he's in pain." Rose finishes
"Dr Cullen, he's like this foster dad slash matchmaker." Jane adds
"Maybe he'll adopt me! I mean - Dona's basically adopted now anyways." Mary says dreamily.
"Whose he?" Bella asks
Anna smirked, "That's Edward Cullen."
"Totally gorgeous, obviously." Mary smiled "But apparently, no-one here is good enough for him." Edward heard this and slightly smirked. "Like I care - You know! But he's of the table anyway because it's obvious Dona likes him even if she won't admit it."
I glared at her "Ew! No! Guys! Bad mental pictures! Edward is like my annoying younger brother that you want to shut up but won't!" I gave them one last glare before standing and walking over to the Cullen's table but not without hearing the end of their conversation.
"Seriously though! Don't waste your time." Jane warned
"Wasn't planning on it." Bella retorted her eyes never leaving the back of Edward Cullen.
