What If: Leo Loud ended up trapped in a nightmare scenario with an Imitation Thing (either 2011 or 1980's)

(*Keep in mind that this will be split into two parts, so don't expect things to be 100% accurate.*)

*angry thing noises*

"Okay...you're kinda wondering why I an hiding with a Maggie-Thing?  You know with prehensile tentacles and both of us trying to stop an even bigger thing from tearing her a new one?" he said, moving heavy objects with her.

"And, you're probably wondering how despite being infected, she still is herself but not fully herself?  Well, she FUSED with that alien biomass...but she may have something that resists a permanent change.  Lincoln might know but...he's kinda busy with trying to bring this station down." Leo added, worried about Maggie, given that she was not well after what happened.

"Will you please hurry and help me barricade this door!?  If this falls, so do we!" Maggie said, her voice wet and deep.  She looked like she was under a constant deluge of water, tentacles and teeth, but otherwise okay.  "Look, as long as I don't go under, I'm not gonna go rogue on you, like Fionna and that Yates girl did..."

"Fair enough, but this weird civil war has to end, and I have to be the one to tell them how it started," Leo shot back.  "Besides, if your weird resistance gives out, you will be lost forever, as you are just as important to stopping this!"

"I...I know. *thud* that's why I refuse to see you get hurt like this.  I mean look at you!  At least you don't look like that drowned girl from "The Ring"!  I look like I got sucked through a candy-slime pipe!" Maggie retorted, her teeth getting sharp as her voice rose.

"Woah, say it don't spray it!" Leo reacted, seeing her spit  fly as she gnashed her teeth again.

"As I was saying... the assimilator caught us with our bio-pants down 3 days ago..."

It started with a creature that was found in the Ice Caves of Michigan...a well known place but not one expected to harbor a discovery.  We eventually took it down south to the South Pole Research Zone.  But a malfunction caused the research room to heat up without warning.

*sounds of ice melting and a creepy eyeball scaring the Louds and Leo, who would normally remain calm.*

Fionna the mall worker, and Beatrix Yates, one of the five Yates siblings who was sent here for moral support and extra credit, respectively, were the first to kill it with fire.  I didn't know too much about Beatrix, but that was unusual for her to get that angry.  Fionna, on the other was always sour mooded, but even then she was hesitant to make a kill like that.

I guess she wasn't all bad, but that's what made things worse, given what we should have known.

Leni was the first to speak up. She suggested asking the ice creature a few questions.  Strangely, that may have worked if it wasn't for the fact that it was frozen for so long.

That being said, trouble was coming around the corner.

Poor Charles...he was a damn good dog, he tried to warn us.  He was the first to be silenced by that damn creature.  It 'ate' him from the inside.  Looked like something out of a tentacle movie.

*remind me to reprimand Lucy for scaring Lola with that horror movie.*

Lana mourned for quite sometime.  She was looking for a way to avenge her fallen friend.  The creature only needed enough mass to thrive, she was not assimilated, but 'saved for later'.

That escalated the suspicions of everyone, which eventually culminated into the blood test.

With Lana cocooned in the same weird fleshy pod, however, she was the only one with the universal keys, Lisa did plan everything.  She had one of us get the keys from her lab.

Then I saw her, Lana...awake and from the pod.  But how!?

There was no time to contemplate as Fiona tackled me to the ground.

"What are you doing!?  She's an impostor!  Take a good look at her hat!  She doesn't have it on!  She's never separated from it!" she snarled.

"Heh...you are not wrong.  That said, you may have said too much." 'Lana' said as she mutated her form, claws and appendages burst forth from her body in a gory fashion, her stomach opened up into a maw of flesh and teeth.  Then she spat some strange fluid at Fiona, who screamed in pain at it ate through her clothing and parts of her arms, burning them.

The real Lana was 'indisposed' at the moment.  All this felt too familiar...but I couldn't remember why.  But these 'body snatchers' must be stopped for good!
