A Lovely Dinner
“Hmm? Yeah I’ll be on my way home shortly, don’t worry, My Sweet Rose.” His voice was heard through the phone, she smiled at the sound.
“I’ll be waiting, My Elegant Flower!” She giggled and hung up the phone, stretching before walking into the kitchen and starting on dinner.
As she began slicing onions she heard a tap at the door. Putting the knife down she walked over to the door, looking out the stained window and seeing nothing.
Cautiously she walked out, going to the mailbox and finding a package. The package was small. It was for Sato. Not wanting to invade his privacy she left it at the table and got back to cooking their meal.
As Sato arrived home, he unlocked the door and stepped in. “Ella, I’m home my love.” He walked into the kitchen and smiled at the smell of the food. Picking up the package he opened it, reading the letter carefully before setting the box down and walking closer to Ella.
“Are you ok?” Her voice was filled with worry. He nodded and kissed her sweetly, and walked out the door, taking the box and letter with him. Ella quickly ran after him but by the time she got close, he was gone.
Confused and hurt, Ella walked back in the house, calling Sato just to be ignored. She felt her heart crack. She turned off the stove and sat, waiting the rest of the night in hopes for him to come back, but to no avail. She felt herself drifting off to sleep, tears filling her heartbroken eyes. By the time she woke, she would know. He isn’t coming back. She would have to follow his clues to find him.
