When I get to the hospital my dad and brother are already there Gray runs up to me and hugs me then a nurse takes me to a place where I can change and gives me some nursing scrubs to change into when I come out of the showers now dressed in the scrubs I walk through the hall till I reach to waiting room after about twenty minutes another nurse comes out and ask me what happened so I start telling the story form when it started a little more than an hour ago.
"Mommy I wanna go ice skating," I said looking up at her.
"I don't know Nessie it's getting a little late don't ya think?" Mom said
"No I wanna go skating," I said, stamping my foot and frowning a pout forming on my lips.
Mom laughed "Alright fine but let's drop Dad and Gray off at home first 'cause Gray looks ready to pass out K?" Mom asked
"K! Thanks Mom," I said, skipping excitedly to the car
"Of course you're the birthday girl after all," Mom said, opening the door for me to get in. I sat in my boosterster seat and smiled up at her
"Happy sixth birthday angel face," Mom said with a sweet smile and kissed my forehead then shut the car door.
At home Dad carried Gray inside and Mom ran in to grab our skates then we drove down to the lake.
When we got there I took off my shoes in the car and put my skates on before getting out then I ran to the frozen lake but slipped halfway and slid the rest of the way down laughing
I got up as mom was still putting on her skates
I started doing figure eights and a double axel mom clapped when I landed it. When mom got onto the ice I asked her to spin me around she said fine but that she didn't have good balance on the ice. "Happy birthday my little xxxxxxxxx," she spun me around and then let go, I went into the spin and only stopped when I heard mom yelp "Whoooa," followed by a dull thud when I turned around mom was bleeding
"MMMOOOOMMMMM, Mom, mom, please wake up," I said shaking her then I call the police.
After I had explained everything the nurse left and I curled into a ball on the waiting chair.
Thirty minutes later the doctor comes out and I raise my head as he goes over to talk to my dad "How is Riona," my dad asks worriedly
"I'm sorry sir your wife passed away due to internal bleeding which was caused by several skull fragments piercing her brain and the way she hit her head on the rock caused a part of her of her cranial cavity to collapse in on itself witched crushed the Occipital lobe the skull fragments end up piercing the Cerebellum, Spinal cord and her Brain stem," The doctor said gently, dad tucked his head and started to tremble his tears fall to the floor
"Rio, I'm so sorry," he whispers his tears falling faster
"I'll give you and your family a moment," the doctor says walking away.
Dad just stands there I bring my gaze down to his hand and see the red string tied to his finger broken because of me, as that thought sinks in I feel something snap in my chest and start to feel cold but not in an uncomfortable way, just like when you get too cold and then you're just kinda numb I know I should be sad but I just don't care and that realization should scare me but I can't feel anything It feels hollow, like someone turned of my heart
"Hey Nessa," I turn to look at my brother
"Mom isn't coming back home is she?" He asked me with tears welling up in his eyes "
