"You can call me Day," Daisy chimes in softly
"K," I say starting to feel awkward
"We should exchange numbers that way if you have a question you can just call us. Ooooo and a group chat. What do you think we should name the group chat?" Joy rambles
"Why don't we just exchange numbers first then set up the group chat also the name is going to be spider lilies," I say handing my phone to Dai so she can put her number in and Joy passes her phone to me I put my number in and hand it back, Dai passes her phone to me and my phone to Joy, next we then set up the group chat on our own phones.
I use a picture I took when I was seventeen wearing a black ball dress that fades to midnight blue at the bottom I think I still have the dress in my closet back at my apartment.
"Whoa your P.F.P. is so cool are you wearing a crown made out of thorns?!" Joy asks, getting excited and starting to bounce on her toes.
Dai puts a hand on her shoulder to keep her grounded.
"Yeah I was like seventeen when I took that," I say checking the clock and say "We should get to class before we're late,"
They both turn to look at the clock at the same time "Oh sh*t," They say in unison let's go, they grab all the bags, even mine and drag me out the door pausing just long enough for me to lock the door.
"Do you have your schedule and know where to go?" Joy asks
"Yeah my first class is advanced biology with Professor Evangalina Kali," I say
"Cool we have that class right now as well we can walk there together," Joy states before dragging Dai and I down the stairs and out the front door only when we enter the main hall of the school building does she stop pulling us along we walk through a maze of corridors until we reach Prof. Kali's classroom as we enter I see that everyone is separated into pairs except for one person
"You girls are late," Prof. Kail states
"Sorry it won't happen again," Joy and Dai say together and got to sit at their table.
"Miss Dabria come and introduce yourself to the class," Prof. Kali says to me
"K," I say and walk up to the front of the classroom I glare at the class for a few seconds when most of the class starts to shift uncomfortably under my gaze I start my introduction "Hi I'm Nessabel Desaray Dabria but anyone who calls me Nessabel has a death wish so just call me Nessa," I say in a monotone voice with venom lace in between my words
"A-alright why don't you tell us three things about yourself then you can sit down," Prof. Kali stutters, Joy and Dai are staring at me in awe.
"My hair is natural not dyed, I am not wearing contacts and my skin has been like this my entire life, I just don't tan so no, I'm not about to drop dead," I say clearing up everything people usually question me about right at the beginning so there are no questions. I turn to the Prof. and ask "Hey miss where do I sit?"
She blinks "Oh you can sit by Silas since it's the only open seat," She says pointing to a tall guy with black hair on the far side of the classroom I walk to the third row the guy Silas moves to the left to make room for me.
"Hi," He says glancing at me as I sit down and then I feel the same tug I felt in the coffee shop and in the dining hall this morning.
"Hey," I say as I take in his sleek black hair and eyes of rare mexican amber, the exact honey colored shade of the one that my mom got me for my third birthday his skin is pale but still darker than me, my skin is almost an off white color his is more a really pale tan color he also has a beauty mark just under the far side of his left eye. Prof. Kali speaks up "Alright class today we will be studying...
