Chapter Fourteen: You're back

"He is an android that is programmed to care about people, but I think it is different for him with Wanda, like really does care for her"

"Can he if he will put humanity first?"

"Don't we all have to do that?" she said pointing at the Avengers symbol on your t-shirt, you didn't know whether you would sacrifice those you loved for the greater good, for people you don't know, before you can get further into your head, Yelena jumps to her feet, holding out her two hands to help you up as well,

"We should probably head back"

"Yeah, thanks for checking up on me" you smile at her, she smiles back. You didn't know that Yelena hadn't planned on running into you out here, but she didn't say anything to suggest otherwise, she liked you, and didn't mind that you thought what you did. On the walk back to the compound, you clumsily tripped on a rock, and she was there to catch you, she laughed at how goofy you were sometimes,

"You are accident prone Y/n" she said steadying you with her arms, she smiled while shaking her head at you, she had linked her arm with yours to keep you upright, and didn't want to be blamed if you broke an ankle, you could tell that you were going to be friends. She walked you to your room, and when you went inside it was completely cleaned,

"I told Friday that you needed your room to be tidied, now you can sleep in your own bed" and with that she left the room, Yelena was just as protective over Nat as Nat is over Yelena, it made you feel guilty that you had feelings for both Wanda and Nat, that if anything ever did happen, there was a chance that one of them would be hurt, you didn't know if you could handle that, but you are getting away from yourself, I mean you have only kissed Nat once.

The next morning you come down the stairs and make your way to the kitchen, you find Yelena eating the mac and cheese you had replaced for breakfast,

"Ah Y/n you are awake" she says with a smile,

"Would you like some?" she offers, you laugh,

"I don't think mac and cheese for breakfast is my thing Yelena"

"Are you sure? It's really good" you had already started to make your way over to the bread tin, and held up two pieces of bread in response, planning to make eggs and toast. Yelena breaks the silence while you are making breakfast,

"Did you not want to ask me something yesterday?" she reminds you while covering her pasta in hot sauce,

"Yeah, em... just why Wanda isn't allowed on missions?" you almost stop yourself from asking given the conversation from last night, Yelena looks at you and laughs, but when you don't smile back her face gets serious,

"Do you not know about Lagos?"

"Yeah, I think the world knows about Lagos" you raise your eyebrow at her, not fully understanding where this is going,

"Wait... that's it, that's the reason she is being locked up here like a prisoner?"

"She killed innocent people Y/n, and its not like this is prison" she gestures around to the luxury surrounding you,

"Yeah, but she wasn't the only one there Yelena, and you're one to talk" your eyes flash red,

"Hey – that's not fair, I wasn't in control" you don't respond, and you leave the room, heading towards Tony's office.
