Note: Raymond and Abigail were childhood friends who fell in love with each other (all that cliche stuff) who mistakenly slept with each other, and that's how Abigail gave birth to Miya and Michelle. Raymond died in a car accident which Michelle witnessed and that's why she's mute, she was traumatized. (Abigail comes from a middle class family)
Sung-Ho comes from a wealthy family which is prominent in the clothes industry, and as how the rich families do, get their heir married. Jihyo was Sung-Ho's best friend who was close to his family, so she started getting closer to his mom and that's how she won her heart.
And Sung-Ho being a baaaad boy back in his days, slept with Jihyo who also gave birth to Taeil and Lion. Which became an advantage for Jihyo, and that's how they got married at a young age.
After a couple of years, Abigail became a minor model under Sung-Ho's company. To earn a living for her kids and herself since she's an independent woman. Sometime later, she caught Sung-Ho's attention with her speech.
When Jihyo saw Sung-Ho was no longer paying attention to her, she became irrational which led her to commit, *dramatic music* suicide.
Taeil and Lion weren't that traumatized since Jihyo never spent much time with them. They eventually got over her death and moved on. Sung-Ho wasn't that affected either since he knew Jihyo was irrational and that there was no point in mourning over a bad mother
Later, Sung-Ho became closer to Abigail which led them to going on friend dates, and eventually introducing their kids to each other, and that's how Taeil and Michelle slowly started to develop feelings for each other.
After a few months of planning, Sung-Ho and Abigail eventually bought a house together and started living together and that's how Taeil, Lion, Miya and Michelle became close.
Filler: Michelle is socially awkward which leads Abigail to move her from school to school since she's always bullied because she's mute.
