RDAT7D: Eyes of the Beholder (Merlin x OC)

Chapter 1

"Princess... Red Shoes?" The girl in question nodded her head

"Huh. I've never heard of that name before" she lightly shrugged as she stood up to hook both end of the cloth

"Um..." Red Shoes was confused on what Charlotte said, making her giggle

"Sorry. I usually know most names and faces of royalty as I was taught since I have to. You might be from a far away kingdom then"

"Yeah, yeah! Way to far" Charlotted just nodded to her as headed to the door

"You can use my bed, I'll use the hammock. I'll let you get some alone time and I'll guard the door to stop those idiots if they plan to bother you"

"You don't have to" Charlotte waved her hand

"It's fine. Get some rest, I'll tell you once dinner is ready" she left the room and closed the door. Releasing a breath, thinking about Princess Red Shoes who really seemed familiar to her. She had a hunch, if she can know who her father is, that might solve the mystery.

Dinner was lively as the dwarves tried to impress themselves to Red Shoes. Charlotte felt bad for the girl who was getting uncomfortable at the situation

"Hey, Lotte" the girl felt a nudge on her arm as Merlin is trying to get her attention

"Did she say anything to you?" She was contemplating if she should lie, but what's the point with that

"Nope, she didn't. If she wants to share something, she would. I'm not going to force her" she took a bite of her meal

"I understand that. It is just... you know..." Merlin wasn't sure on what he is going to say and Charlotte wasn't ready to hear it as she quickly finished the remains of her meal

"Delicious as always Hans. Hey Red, ready to head back?" She decided to help the girl who was trying to eat more of her meal that was prepared as the boys kept trying to woo her

"Umm, I'm... still not done" Charlotte stood up to walk towards her

"You can finish it at my room. Let's go" she helped Red Shoes stand up and brought her bowl. The dwarves were about to complain when they met her glare as she shut the door closed

"Thanks for that" Red Shoes muttered as she felt embarrass

"I apologize for their actions. There is a reason as to why they are like this, but I'm not the right person to explain. I could get some more food if you need" Charlotte sat down on the bed while Red Shoes sat down on a chair that is infront of the table where Charlotte placed her meal.

"How long have you been staying here?" Red Shoes asked

"Quite some time now. Since the Fearless 7 ain't here, I've been doing work that they usually do with their help" Charlotte answered as she pointed to the door as they heard noises coming from the dwarves

"I actually met them through Merlin and I introduced the triplets to them. Found them with their father and I thought they will make a great addition to the team" she then come up with a plan

"Speaking of the triplets, they are inventors. I'm sure they can make something to help you to look for you father" Red Shoes' eyes turned wide at that moment

"You think so?"

"I think they could. You could start it off by make a missing poster"

"That could work" they shared a smile. Charlotte then grabbed a paper and pencil from her stash

"That's a lot of paper" Red Shoes commented when she saw the drawerp

"Need to stock up for the Triplets, Hans and Merlin. Now you do the drawing, while I get us some desserts and tell the triplets about this"

"Pino, Noki, Kio. Invention room, now" Charlotte called out once she is finished with the dishes. The trio then followed her orders, closing the door shut

"What does she need from them?" Jack asked

"You thinks she is helping them?" Arthur added. The trio that remains turned to a now stunned Merlin. He then realized that they were staring at him as he cleared his throat

"It might be for an invention. You know that Lotte knows how they like inventing stuff" he released a light chuckle, he wasn't even sure if he also believed what he said. They were spooked when the door burst open as the four got out. Though, the triplets looked like they were planning something

"Hans any dessert left?" Charlotte turned to ask

"Sure did" Hans motioned to the tray on the table. She smiled at it as she took the tray and headed back to the room

"Looks splendid as usual Hans. I'll be giving the new recipe that my grandpa asked me to give to you tomorrow" she said as she turned the corner.

Merlin, Hans and Artur shared a look as they are about to question the triplets to what Charlotte told them

"You thought of something?" Charlotte inquired

"There might be"

"Not yet sure though" Pino and Noki said while Kio was taking some of the hidden blueprints

"Is this your way in helping us?" Kio asked the Princess

"With what?"

"With Red Shoes" they said at the same time, making her roll her eyes at them

"I am serious in helping her find her father, that's for sure. What made you ask?" She saw a book and skimmed through it

"We thought you'll help Merlin"

"More like you are helping us sabotage his plans"

"Since you have given us an idea to help" she sighed at this

"I am helping Red Shoes. None of the breaking the curse stuff. You guys can handle it that on your own"

"You could have told Merlin the truth, you know" she knows that Pino was right. After all, they know her...

"If only he had done something during that year"
