"Hey, are you alright?"
Yoohyun's voice sounded distant as I tried to balance myself. A loud buzzing kind of sound ringed inside my head and my scraped knees hurt because of collapsing.
"Yoohyun, is that you?" I smiled and lifted my head to confirm if it was really my little brother and was met with a pair of cold black eyes.
"When will you stop creating problems for yourself and me?" he spat out looking at our surroundings and pushing his hat lower as if to hide his face, distancing himself further away from me. The clothes he wore were fashionable and his complexion seemed good. I observed him closely without being able to hear what he said.
"Have you been go-"
Before I could properly ask my brother about his well-being, I was pulled by the back of my shirt and roughly thrown at the sidewalk. Clueless, I could only groan at the pain added to my already hurt body.
Then the reality hit me as if splashed with a bucket of cold water. We were currently at the side of the road and the passersby seemed to recognize Yoohyun and me and had started to whisper among themselves.
"Just live a quiet life, won't you? This is literally the third time", my brother spat out in a cold voice and turned around to walk away as if even looking at me was a nuisance.
I chewed my lower lip out of frustration. Just what was my fault? Why was I getting scorned like a criminal without any reason? I felt like a fool for running after him after not being able to see him for a long time and almost losing my life in an accident.
Was it because I was an undereducated person who had dropped out of highschool to support the household as a sole breadwinner when our parents passed away and couldn't find a decent job? Is it because I was a poor omega compared to my successful younger sibling? What had I done wrong to be treated this coldly by my own flesh and blood after we have met after years?
"Han Yoohyun!!" I called out, unable to bear the burning feeling in my chest "the welcoming bell on my front door will chime any time you come."
The things I said pathetically while trying to get up on my sprained ankle must have sounded nonsense to everyone including my own brother but I didn't care.
"Please do come to have some coffee."
With that, I turned around while limping all the way to the cafe and settled myself. Rather than feeling bitter about the unexpected meeting with my brother, I felt rather empty. I was glad it was past closing time of the cafe so no one would know my devasted self, not like I had any good reputation in the first place but that isn't the point in here.
Chirpie came to me and chirped softly.
"I should wash you up first," I said to the ball of fluff on my hand which was nibbling on my hand as if trying to comfort me. It was a white chick with soft fur and got cuter the longer you looked at it. Aside from the cute appearance, it was a total vore who could eat two to three loaves of bread for a single meal. Where does all the food go again?
"Please don't leave dad like a certain someone," I mumbled in a wet voice. I just wished the hollow feeling goes away soon.
