It was a fairly normal morning so far for Tori Williams, she started her day with hitting her 18th alarms snooze button. She begrudgingly rolled out of bed and got ready just like any girl in the year 1979 she pulled out her giant hair rollers and pulled on a red, yellow and blue striped cropped shirt with her favorite pair of baggy carpenter jeans, with her iconic Cher look alike white platform Go-go boots.
Since it was Saturday she had to work all day at her uncles record store called "Head In The Lyrics" (idk supposed to be a play on head in the clouds). She grabbed her wallet and keys and started her drive over.
~~~~Time Skip To at The Store~~~~
Tori got out of her old, red Plymouth Barracuda and stumbled to the front door she quickly unlocked the door and set up the store to open which was in about 10 minutes.
She ran up to the clear glass door and flipped the sign to read "Open". And walked over to the register, put her Walkman on her belt and started playing her favorite band ABBA on the speakers of the store.
Since the invention of the Walkman not many people were interested in records as much but she can't really blame them because after all she was obsessed with her Walkman. And today was very exciting the shop got a new shipment in of some cassettes and vinyl records. Tori loved day when new stuff came in because she never knew what genre of music would come in but every time new stuff came she hoped for more ABBA or The Beach Boys. Because after all those were her favorite.
Soon enough the shipment came but to your luck they was just a bunch of Jim Croce and Led Zeppelin, which don't get me wrong you could listen to 'Time in a Bottle' on repeat until you die, weren't your cup of tea per say.
As customers came and went she stayed behind the counter and hummed 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" By ABBA all day. But just as she was about to give up and go home she heard the door chime and let out mental grown to herself and put on a fake smile. She turned to see who it was and she saw the most goofy smile she ever saw it was one of her regular customers but she never found out his name she mostly just saw him standing in the corner staring at her, but whenever she looked up he always turned to look at the records and pretend like nothing happened.
Today he felt brave and looked her in the eye and said "Hey" with a smile. She always thought he was cute but she never talked to him until apparently today. She felt a little warmth on her cheeks and replied "Hi". After about 10 minutes they heard thunder outside followed by rain and they both knew they would be there a while.
~~~~TORI'S POV~~~~
I saw the rain and turned to the guy and said "looks like we are going to be here a while" and he turned to me and said "Well I guess I should learn your name then?". I let out a small chuckle and replied " Tori, Tori Williams, what about you stranger?" He smiled and replied "Peter Maximoff" "pleasure to meet your acquaintance" we both let out a small laugh and shook hands.
After a few minutes I asked if he wanted to come behind the counter because let's face it I could really care less. He surprisingly seemed eager to say yes so I gestured behind the counter and he followed me in.
"Why are you so excited to come back here?" I asked. He said "Well, I always come here and I never get to see how the sausage is made, if you know what I mean" "Well today is your lucky day I will let you play what ever song you want" "Whatever I want huh? Well then I guess I'm gonna have to pick 'Time in a Bottle' by Jim Croce" my eyes lit up a bit when he said that and I yelled "REALLY??!!" "YEAH, WHY ARE WE YELLING??!!" he yelled back at me. I laughed and said "Sorry, that's just one of my favorite songs and hardly anybody here enjoys it" he said "Well then looks like you've met your match then Tori". Little did either of us know how true that statement would become...
