Athena sipped her pumpkin juice happily looking around the packed hall. She had missed this the food, noise and homely atmosphere that surrounded the castle
To her right sat James Potter who was already staring at her. She sighed slightly, she didn't hate him but that didn't mean she liked him, his moronic arrogance annoyed her to no end. He grinned "Did you miss me over the holidays Blake? "
The two were neighbors but this summer much to James's disappointment she had gone to spend time with some friends in France "you wish" she mumbled
"I do love, I really do"
Marlene smirked from across the table "oh she was very busy with that cute French guy what was his name?" Athena rolled her eyes
"He's practically family" she defended
"His name is Nico" Molly said pointing her fork at Athena "and they are way more than family"
Lily giggled "definitely"
James huffed annoyed to see someone else being with Athena "Hey tell this Nico he better stop flirting with my girl or -"
Athena laughed "oh no no no I am not your girl" Remus smiled Athena was used to James's comments and was now more amused than annoyed
James smiled "well do you want to be?" He said she groaned "Don't worry I can wait" moving his face forward close enough so he could smell the splendid scent of Vanilla and Flowers that seemed to linger on her skin
"Earth to potter" Athena said snapping her finger in front of his face as the group snickered "come on we have to show the first years around" she said getting up.
James stayed put with a smile, Athena groaned grabbing his hand and pulling him up to her, James' face lit up as he kept a hold of her hand following her like a lost puppy.
Lily sighed sighed watching James smile watching in awe as Athena explained the castle to the first years "I have to admit they would be such a cute couple"
"Yeah the poor girl doesn't even know he likes her, she just thinks he's trying to annoy her" molly said earning nods from the rest
The three marauders shared knowing looks they had shared a room with James since first year and it had been Athena and only Athena that he had talked about. To this day they all knew that her birthday was the 5th of April, she hated divination and marshmallows and spent most of her summers with mysterious friends that she never gave any details on. The also knew that he didn't just like her, the boy was bloody infacuted
The group watched as Athena patted James's head laughing as he pouted slightly. Everyone could see he was in love with her, well everyone except her
