Flip the Script - Lauren Jauregui

"Ohh like what you tell yourself when your around me?" You laugh neevously. "Well if I get two you get two."

"Okay give me another one."

"Which of these haven't you read. Of Mice and Men, The Giver, Moonlight, Dune, and the Great Gatsby." You stand and think.

"How bad would it be if I said I only read two of them?"

"Better late then never. Which ones?" You two walk back over to the register. You go behind the counter.

"I read Of Mice and Men in high school. Moonlight I read in high school too. By choice." You scan the books and apply your discount to her items.

"Okay. You like dystopia stuff so I am saying The Giver."

"Okay. It's 8.90."

"Add Seth Rogen to it. So it's fair." You close your book and place it in the bag.

"It's on me. Have a good night Lauren. Be safe."

"I will and I'll be back soon." She leaves out and gets in her car.

"You talked to her finally." Delaney teases.

"Yes I did."

"She's really pretty. I like her for you." She pats your shoulder. "By the way how have you not read The Great Gatsby?"

"They didn't make my class read it. I went start into AP classes in high school. They gave us "hard shit."

"Didn't you graduate with a 5.0 gpa?" You just nod. "Nerd."

A few days later Lauren walks in. You are in the back with Whitney. She's giving you a list of books that need to be restocked.

"Is Y/n here?"

"Yea she's in the back right now." Myles answers.

"Yea with Whitney." Tony says. Everyone glares at him. You come out the back with two boxes. Once you see Lauren you almost trip. Delaney stops you and grabs one of the boxes.

"Thanks."

"She asked about you. Go." You put the box down.

"Hey Lauren."

"Hey Y/n."

"What can I do for you?"

"I want your phone number so I can scream at you once I finish Cameron Post." You smile at her and grab a sticky note. "It's already pulling at my heartstrings and it just started."

"Not all books end in happy endings."

"Says the one that reads dystopia books." You hold up your number on your finger but retract it when she says that.

"No I just so happen to believe in a multiverse." You offer your number again. She takes it before her next statement.

"Comic book lover huh?" You nod your head and she just smiles. "Well I'll catch you later webslinger. Be prepared for that phone call."

"Available whenever." You tell her as she walks out the store.

"She called you webslinger. Did you tell her spiderman is your favorite?" You shake your head no just realizing you never did.

"That one night she came in you were wearing a spiderman tee. She pays attention to detail." Whitney says. "Now get back to work. All of you." All of you scramble to do something.

A few nights later Lauren shows up. It's just you and Delaney. You two have to set up for an author book signing tomorrow. Yet right now you two are just chilling. Delaney throwing Reese pieces into your mouth.
