The man laughs as you just school everyone. They all roll there eyes. Annoyed that it took you less than 10 seconds.

"Is this the only book?" He shows you three more. "Cash or card. Preferably cash would be best." You reach your hand back for the key from Whitney. He nods.

"I'll pay in cash sweetheart." Ewww. "You have really pretty eyes."

"Thank you." You say as you just read through the log of the prices. You guys should definitely put stickers on these damn things. Only one being hard cover. "71.67."

He hands you a 100. Ughhh. "Keep the change gorgeous." You smile at him sweetly and hand him the bag with his books.

"Have a good day." He waves and leaves. Your friends all laugh. "Where the fuck is the hand sanitizer?" You look around.

"We gotchu." Myles puts some on your hands.

"Whitney the books are fine. It's just 5 of them that have a misprint. So just contact the place and they should be willing to replace them for free."

"Thank you." She kisses your head. "Y/n is on register until the systems are back up." You groan, but as you do you hear the computer beeping. Yes!

A few weeks later it was late. You, Whitney, Delaney and Zion are closing. Yet it's not time yet. You were chilling behind the desk with Seth Rogen's new book. You decided to switch it up.

You had just finished The Alchemist yesterday. Was a great read. You were straying away from true crime since you found some podcast that do it for you. Bailey Sarian and Stephanie Soo.

After this you just might read the Hunger Games series again. Yet with a twist. Someone online had sent you a version they remade. One where it's about Johanna and Katniss. It's queer so what can you say.

You hear the bell over the door ring. Instantly you take your feet off the counter and sit up straight. Yet you are still reading. As you stand up you look up finally.

"Hey Y/n."

"Hi...."

"Lauren." You nod and place the book on the counter. Giving her your undivided attention. "Seth Rogen?"

"Uhmm yea. Trying something new."

"What do you usually read?"

"Depends on how I am feeling. It use to be true crime, but now I'm trying to expand my knowledge. Yet I like simple books too. Like the Hunger Games series or any other dystopia societies."

"Complex much?" She teases.

"Just a bit. So how did you like the book?"

"It was alright. So I was thinking maybe you could give me another recommendation?"

"Well it's either this Seth Rogen book or you give me an idea of what you are looking for?"

"What's a book you never read?"

"Would you be surprised if I told you I never read Fahrenheit 451?"

"What? That's a classic at this point. You have to read it."

"Okay. Deal. Interest in the LGBTQ+ community?" This catches her by surprise. You really don't know who she is.

"I am part of it so yes."

"Okay. Follow me." She does to a different section of the store. You find two books and pull them off the shelf. "This is Cameron Post. Great read in my opinion. Kind of pulls on the heart strings. Then this is Act Cool."
