Dedicated to my bae @OneHellOfAnOtaku7, who loves Soma to death. ;)

(Y/N)'s POV:

"(Y/N)!" Soma shouted from across the hall, barging into your room on the second floor, just beside his own room. He flashed his signature smile upon seeing your face, one that would always melt your heart.

"Manners?" you said, slightly annoyed. He would never knock or ask for your permission before entering your room. You had grown accustomed to this, but still wanted to preserve your rights to privacy.

"Yeah, yeah," he smiled putting one of his hands on his nape. A trait of his unknown to even him.

"What did you do?" you narrowed your eyes and asked him, removing your headphones.

"I, uh," he continued speaking nervously.

"You, uhh, what?" you asked wondering what he could've done. He once lost your Naruto figurine and broke your BNHA cup. You shuddered at the thought of what he might've done this time.

"I stained your Akatsuki hoodie," your mind went blank, and you stood up from your chair. That's when he knew it was his cue to run.

"You did WHAT?" you exclaimed, completely annoyed at this point.

"As I said, I stained your Akatsuki hoodie," he said sheepishly, fiddling with his fingers, which wasn't helping calm down your nerves.

"You, you know what?" you continued in a state of absolute anger.

"Oh, damn, someone's dying tonight," he mumbled, inaudible to you.

"Do you know how fucking expensive anime merch is!?" you practically shouted at this point and grabbed your bat.

"I'm sorry, I really am. I was just carrying a glass of juice to the hall but I slipped and fell," he whispered the last part, but it was loud enough for you to hear. You swung your bat but were called down by Joichiro, your said 'dad', who took you in at the age of six.

"Soma, (Y/N), come down, we have customers!" Joichiro said and you both complied.

"Don't think this is over yet. You're not sleeping tonight until I lecture you on how to not touch, stain or break my anime merch and you're going to buy me all of the stuff you've damaged yet," you said and flashed a simple yet frightening smile hiding serious murderous intent.

You and Soma both went down and started their respective chores. Soma assisted his dad while you washed the plates, and so came the most awaited hour of the day.

"I'm so going to win today," said Soma, crossing his arms, looking ever so confidently as he does before each round.

"Oh, yeah, we'll see," replied Joichiro.

He started cooking the dish chosen for the day, and in a few minutes, was done. Both of them finished almost in the same instant. And so, two exquisite, delectable delights were presented before the brown-haired girl, the judge for today's anonymous contest between the infamous father-son duo, though the contrast between their skills was evident with one look at their dishes.

"This one," the girl pointed to one bowl, still savouring the pleasurable flavour. Soma clenched his hand, and that's how we know who won.

Well, you didn't need to watch the complete contest to predict who'd win today. Soma kneeled on the floor, tasting his cold defeat while you laughed in the corner. You approached your supposed housemate and patted his shoulder.

"Don't sulk, you'll win it next time. It's just your 500th loss" you said and snickered at him. Joichiro-jii-san laughed in the corner at the little scene.

"Shut up," he said and rolled his eyes, "It's only 489 losses!"

You tightened your grip on his shoulder, and gave him a simple smile, "Keep rolling your eyes, maybe you'll find a brain back there."

"Oh, yeah, (Y/N) and Soma, come 'ere," Joichiro-jii-san called you. "For the next two or three years, I'm going to close the restaurant." You both couldn't believe your ears.

"What, why? The business is progressing well, and we have a ton of customers every day. Then, why?" you asked him. You really loved this restaurant and wanted to protect it.

"Well, an old friend of mine suggested we work together, and I couldn't refuse," he replied plainly.

"First, apologize to your son!" said Soma.

"Hm, hm."

"What—You can't just decide that yourself. Why now suddenly? I want to stay at this restaurant always and—" Soma said, almost on the verge of tears.

"Soma, it's time for you to figure out what you've got," Joichiro-jii-san said, lightly punching his son's chest.

"So, for that while when I'm gone, I'm enrolling you in a cooking school," he continued while handing Soma a pamphlet.

"A cooking school?" you confusedly questioned. "Then, what about me?"

"Oh, you're both going together," he said and smirked. Even though it didn't show on your face, you were actually really happy. The simple idea of attending school with him made you ecstatic because you both were in different middle and elementary schools. "Make sure to tell him how you feel," he whispered in your ear and you blushed a deep red.

"I don't think I understand what you're talking about," you said in a frenzy, still blushing and worried Soma might overhear but that didn't really matter because he was Soma, the king of denseness.

"Denial won't erase them from existence," said Joichiro jii-san. You couldn't believe that. You didn't want to believe that.

"But why is she going too?" Soma asked.

"Well, for one thing, I know she's a better cook than you, she's smarter than you and she's more responsible than you. And I can't leave my little boy alone now, can I?" Joichiro-jii-san said and laughed along with you while Soma pouted at the abrupt pile of insults.

"Anyhow, I look forward to attending school with you, (Y/N)." Soma added and you smiled, "Me too. But you're still up for the lecture tonight. Prepare yourself." A shiver ran down his spine.

You both were genuinely happy, unaware of the events about to take place. Events capable of changing you both so much, especially Soma's feelings towards the girl.
