"What happened, Rylie! You didn't even get a single A in your report card! What's wrong with you?!" Ms. Tomas screamed at her daughter in fury. She was always pressuring her daughter, Rylie, to be the best in her class ever since she started school.

"I'm so sorry, I promise I would never do it again. It's just that I'm so affected because of Dad's dea-" Rylie tried to explain, but was cut off by her mother.

"I don't need your stupid excuses! I wish you were never my daughter! No daughter of mine would be like this!"

"And... I-I wish you were never my mother! Y-you were never caring! Dad was the only person who actually loved me! I wish he was still here! I wish you were the one d-dead! I'm going to my room!" Rylie stormed off to her room, sobbing.

Her mother stood at the same place in the living room, stunned. She was unable to move, as she was shocked with Rylie's behavior. She showed no remorse, however. She was still angry and disgruntled with Rylie's grades.

"I'll let you slide today, but I'm gonna punish you tomorrow. You're gonna regret this, Rylie." Ms. Tomas whispered, trying to keep calm.

Hours passed by, and Rylie was still in her locked room, crying. She missed her dad, who died just a month ago because of a tragic car accident. He was her only comforter and best friend. He was the one whom Rylie told secrets to. He was the only person whom Rylie loved.

After some time, it was midnight, and Rylie was a bit sleepy. Wiping her tears, she went to bed.
