Many times, I have found myself near the edge
You have held my actions at bay
I am not a child but have felt so at times
Now and again, you have found the words required
Saving me from myself
Perhaps you have even helped me become a better man
In ways that it is impossible to explain
Rarely, if ever, have you failed to comment
Applying your unique sense of humour
The ability you have, to see what lays beneath the words
Is second to none, and is
Only matched by your philosophical perspective
Now all I can offer is my hand in friendship, how I wish it had been face-to-face, my friend
