"Melori get up"
"You will be late again"
"Hmm five minutes more"
After 20 minutes there is Melori ready
"Mom I said na I will not be late again"
"Oh drama queen it is 07:05"
"Shit I m late again give me my lunch box and snacks fast my bottle"
Nothing new melori managed to reach but she was late again and today was her bad day
"Melori why are you late?" asked her "favorite" English mam
"Mam due to traffic"
"Traffic at 7 am in the morning something new"
After narrating a short story of an accident melori finally was set free.
She sat next to the new girl Clara
"We are on the text 'Rubies and diamond" Wishpered Clara
Melori had a bad gut feeling about it. Why is she helping me? What does she want and all?
After 80 minutes of continuous torture of English, it was recess time.
Melori was opening her snacks, but a boy walked toward her and stood in front of her desk. A puzzled look came across her face as she raised her head.
It was Kai who is a famous playboy and goody to shoes for teachers. He comes up to Melori and hands her a list of pairs for the buddy system to be followed by each grade. So basically It is something that the student council and teachers came up with. Teachers will assist the students with each other depending on their strengths and weakness. Melori and Kai both are student council members.
Clara asks " Can you tell me who my buddy is?"
"Sure it is Jeremy"
"Oh-" She says with a sigh
Jeremy is a nerd but kinda cute sometimes I guess...
" what about you? melori who is your buddy?"
"I don't know wait let me check"
It was Flint the last person with who Melori would want to be a buddy. Flint was a cold and rude guy. Although they have been in the same class since childhood they are strangers to each other.
"What......."
"Y'all Melori and Flint are buddies," Clara said getting everyone's attention
Melori could feel the envious eyes of all the girls as apart from being good at grades Flint had got some looks to make the girl go crazy over him not only in their grades but also as juniors freshmen he was quite popular.
"Don't make a big fuss about it. It is only for 2 weeks." Melori says and goes to the whiteboard to write the pair's name
Kai comes up to Melori and says "You must be on cloud nine na"
"What are you saying?"
"You think I have forgiven you for what you did at freshers party huh"
"Nothing happened"
"Oh really" Kai aggressively pulls Melori's arm
"What are you doing?"
"You-" Before Kai could complete his sentence Jeremy comes and says
"Mrs. Chaeyoung (headteacher) is calling you both to her office"
Melori and Kai in Mrs. Chaeyoung office
"Ya mam you called?" Melori with a tense face
"Ha yes... Melori and Kai I got to know something and I am disappointed"
What would it be? Is it about the fight? the fresher's party?
Kai and Melori hollow-cheeked state. They exchanged a look.
"Freshers party-"
"Mrs. Chaeyoung I didn't cause the mess on that day. I swear." Kai says interrupting Mrs. Chaeyong to protect himself
"Hold on what mess I wanted to say I heard you misplaced the school's camera you had borrowed?"
"No ma'am We found it. It is with Elle for the photography club."
"Ok then. Tell her I want all the photos and the camera by tomorrow."
An awkward silence
"Kindly get out now," Mrs. Chaeyoung said gesturing us the way out.
Ufff- Melori felt lightened but what she didn't know was there is a surprise waiting for her...
