Chapter 1

It was a bright autumn day, the leaves were gently crunching under my feet as I walked along the street. Suddenly, I spotted Willow. Their long dark brown hair blowing in the wind. "Hey ̣̙͓̯͔̦̤̯͙̩̑ͣ̉ͨ̀̂̈̈ͫ̕͜҉̱͍̳͓̦̜̥̺̩̳̀̚!" She said enthusiastically. "Hey Willow." I had a crush on Willow for a long time, but today was the day I finally asked her out. "Where are you headed too?" They said with a smile. "Oh, nowhere. I'll be at the shop later tonight though. Are you closing today?" I asked while trying to conceal my real intentions. "Yeah, I am." She said, I figured that's where she was headed. Me and Willow worked at a small thrift store named Jaspr's Thrifting. "Well, I'll meet you there later." I said with a smile. "Alright cool!" They then walked away. I could hear their boots hitting the ground and the crunching of leaves as she walked passed.

I headed to a flower shop just down the street, went in and bought Willow a bouquet of flowers with daisies and red roses in it. Today's the day. I thought. I hope everything goes well. I was extremely nervous. The thought of Willow rejecting me chilled me to the bone. They're the only friend I've got... Is it worth it? What if she says no and our friendship is ruined? I was mortified. I never made friends easily, so Willow had always been the only friend I had. For as long as I can remember we were together... actually... Was there even a time when we weren't friends? I was a bit confused because I genuinely couldn't remember a time where I hadn't known Willow. I shook off the thought and started to walk over to the shop.

I walked slowly to the shop with anxiety building up inside of me. By this time, it was about 6:05 and it was dark. The shops were lit up with fairy lights strung along the street in between the lampposts and you could hear gentle chatter amongst the cafes. We lived in a town called Orevandle. It was a very small town. Willow knows everyone; however, I don't know anyone. I mean, I can recognize everyone's faces, but I've never gotten to know anyone really. Everyone here was basically a stranger to me. For some reason most people act like I'm not there. The only time they'll pay attention to me is if I talk to them. I found it odd, but I never paid attention to it. It doesn't matter to me, I have Willow. They're all I need. All I want. All I live for.
