ci||an unexpected turn for the worst
Maria is laughing with Andromeda as a selective few people sit or dance around the Potter living room. It's around three o'clock in the morning now yet everyone is still going strong, Regulus dancing with Marlene who had dragged him up since Dorcas is way too drunk to stand as she sits between Mary and Peter on one of the sofas, trading some chocolate frog cards. James and Lily are chatting with Lily's parents and Sirius is speaking to Ted, Alice and Frank by a table with a variety of drinks displayed on it. Ted and Andromeda are free from having to watch Nymphadora's every move since she had gone to the Weasleys home for a sleepover.
"And I didn't even realise he had gotten down on one knee until everyone else was gasping!" Andromeda explains the night when Ted had proposed to her. They had been in a muggle restaurant and Andromeda had stood to go to the bathroom when Ted had gotten onto one knee. "It was terrific though, we got a free bottle of wine."
"It sounds amazing." Maria sighs honestly, smiling softly.
"Oh I hope you and Regulus get married." Andromeda says excitedly, sipping her wine. "I do love weddings! Me and Ted had a small wedding because of my family, but it was incredible. Even Sirius and Regulus snook out when Reg was nine to come for an hour."
Maria smiles at the thought of small Sirius and Regulus sneaking out of Grimmauld Place and walking the streets of London to get to their cousins wedding.
"What are we talking about?" Sirius sighs as he falls onto the sofa between the girls who glare at him slightly.
"Weddings."
"Boring." Sirius gulps down the rest of champagne in his glass before burping loudly making Maria screw her face up and he smiles sweetly at her.
"We'd better be off, honey." Ted sighs, approaching the three and Andromeda smiles with a nod, taking her husband's outstretched hand and pulling herself to her feet. "It was nice to see you Maria, you too Sirius."
"Write to me if you need anything." Andromeda sighs as she hugs Maria who nods into the slightly taller woman's shoulder. "You too, Sirius." She grins at her cousin who laughs and tackles her into a tight embrace.
The couple say their goodbyes to everyone else, leaving the party with two less people. Sirius slouches in his seat and Maria raises an eyebrow at the Black.
"What?" Sirius says, holding his arms out. "Hey, you think Peter and Mary will shag later?" Maria glances over at Peter and Mary who are laughing together in the sofa after being abandoned by Dorcas who had been dragged up to dance by her girlfriend.
"Possibly." She whispers and Sirius snickers slightly. "You and Lily's Mum?"
"Possibly."
"You'd better be kidding." Maria laughs and Sirius shrugs his shoulders making Maria roll her eyes with a small smile. "When do you want to tell Lily and James about their present?"
