[How long do I have to wait? How many nights do I have to pass to see you again? To meet you?]

Midnight comes as perfect black, light rain starting to pour, made ever more enchanting by the myriad of stars that are scattered like moon dust in the sky. Night comes to bathe the moon in her comforting black, it's beautiful, Taehyung thinks.

"Shall we dance, my love?" He whispers, putting on a heavy accent and standing on one foot goofily. Jungkook blushes softly and Taehyung catches the faint red that blooms across his pretty face, he swats at Taehyung's arm and spins him around, causing him to lose footing.

He grabs Jungkook by his waist and pulls him into an embrace, he huffs out a soft laugh against Taehyung's chest and Taehyung physically feels himself falling more for the male. Jungkook's hair was endearingly tousled, ruffled by a restless sleep he had awakened him from to dance beneath the stars- Taehyung could tell the younger needed this moment.

The brunet's cheeks began to take their natural rosy glow as they both clumsily danced from side to side. They waltzed into the hours of darkness. Spinning in circles and shuffling their feet to the quiet sound of owls hooting and crickets chirping in the night.

It looked funny, two adults giggling way past midnight and dancing drunkenly in their backyard. Anyone could tell but at that very moment, it didn't matter. It didn't matter that they both looked weird because honestly, they were more content together than they'd ever been apart.

Into the pirouetting dawn they danced, laughed and existed. They swayed together, bodies close; with Jungkook's hand grasping the older's tightly, like he was afraid he would dissapear. It was perfect, Taehyung was with the one he loved most of all, his person, his one. It felt like the moment lasted forever, yet Taehyung wasn't exhusted, he couldn't get enough of the younger's lovely laugh. There was never a moment he would ever be tired of Jungkook- if he had to choose one thing in the world, it'd be Jungkook and him alone.

The younger dropped Taehyung's hand and pulled him down with his gentle fingers entangling in Taehyung's hair, their foreheads were touching; breathing in each other's scent. Jungkook was always slightly shorter than Taehyung and it was moments like this that he found the brunet to be adorably irresistible.

He felt Jungkook's sweet, warm breath ghost against his lips as the younger whispered, "I love you".

Their lips lovingly met and they kissed.

It wasn't anything all that fancy and there were no fireworks or butterflies, but it felt like home. It felt like coming home after a rough day and having your partner smooth away all your worries and fears and wrap you in the softest fleece blanket. In that kiss was the sweetness of unbeatable passion and a million loving thoughts condensed into a singular moment of pure, unfiltered love and adoration.

The world around Taehyung buzzed as he struggled to hold onto the present, it faded in and out in various blurs- pink lips and pretty smiles, twinkling doe eyes and tingling peals of laughter, death- Taehyung startles awake on his bed- our bed, he forces himself to correct and sits up. His heart beats erratically and he takes huge gulps of air like his body hasn't got enough oxygen.

The world around him spins and his blood pounds in his ears and he struggles to breathe. Panic wraps it's dark and murky claws around Taehyung's chest like a vice grip and he feels himself choking on dry sobs.

"Hey shh, you're okay. I've got you now. Calm down" A flurry of rushed, sleepy reassurances overtakes his mind and he lets it, finally being able to inhale properly.

"That's it." They whisper and Taehyung comes face to face with his pre-school best friend. Park Jimin. Jimin smiles sadly at him and he shrugs it off, thanking the blond haired male with what he hoped was more of a smile than a grimace. Although it was more of the latter, but Jimin didn't mind. He understood. Taehyung wipes away the last of his tears that had slipped his eyes and rushes to put on a coat that very faintly smells of Jungkook and feels his throat clogging up again at the reminder.

Just as he's about to leave the room, he feels a hand on his shoulder, "Let me come with you to see, Jungkook.." Jimin mutters, rushing to pull on a coat above his sleepwear and Taehyung nods his head distractedly and continues fumbling with the door, sighing in relief when it finally opens up.

They walk to the place in radio silence, it's barely past eleven at night and Taehyung knows Jimin has work tomorrow, he can't help but feel ever more grateful for his friend. He knows he should feel slighty guilty for waking the blond up but can't help but be comforted by the fact that Jimin had agreed to tag along. Just so that he isn't alone with his tormenting thoughts.

Jeon Jungkook (xxxx-xxxx)

Aged 19

A son, lover and friend. You'll be forever missed, we love you.

The gravestone had sunk into the soft soil giving it the appearance of shrinking. The engraved words, so weathered by rain, sat just above the level of the ground cover plants that sprawled over the dirt. There were dried flowers on the edge along with a few unlit candles.

Taehyung sank to his knees, feeling numb. Like he wasn't quite present in the moment. He fondles with the soft soil and retains in the feeling, using it to ground himself.

Jungkook was dead. It had been two years now. Two years of constantly feeling like his world had been ripped into shreds, like he's lost a limb.

How do you deal with it? How can you deal with your whole world falling apart and your chest ripping open with only a single phone call? How can he ever forget the one person that taught him to breathe, to love with everything in him?

The world was a cruel thing. No amount of preparation or time could ever prepare you to face death. Loss came and Taehyung felt the bonds of his reach out into the ether, feeling Jungkook there- at the edge, wishing for his presence, to hold and nurture once more. One last time is all Taehyung asks for and yet he knows it won't be granted.

The wind whispers in gentle melodies of nature and he shut my eyes at the feeling. Jungkook always loved the wind- the way it blew his hair off his face once when he'd grown it long and his peals of adorable laughter ricocheting against the silent wind.

I miss you too, Taehyung feels it murmur against his cheeks and that's all it takes for him to break down against the grave in silent tears.

Midnight comes as perfect black, light rain starting to pour, yet this time he couldn't feel the joy he had felt once upon a time, a time when everything was perfect.
