Jasmine's POV

I hear a knock on my door, after telling whoever it is to come in I see a tall man enter the room. Not as hot as the one that came before him but still very handsome.

"Ms. Barns right?" He asks nicely.

"Yes but Jasmine is fine as well." I tell him sticking out my hand, he shakes it and I can't help but notice how firm his grip is.

"My name is U.S. Marshal Hunter Stillman, but Hunt is fine." He tells me smilling.

"Hunt, thank you for being nice Nathan wasn't as nice. Are you the head Marshal?"

"No, Nate is." My face instantly drops to a frown. "Oh come on it's ok he isn't that bad once you get to know him."

"He was an insensitive jerk." I state simply and he nods.

"Yeah he can be that way some times but he gets better." He tells me.

There is another knock on the door and after telling whoever it is to come in the object of our disscusion walks in.

"Nate just talking about you." Hunt says.

"Yeah I know." He taps his ear and Hunt cringes a little.

"Forgot about that."

" 'bout what?" I ask Hunt however my eyes are fixed on Nate.

"We have ear peices so we can communicate." Nate tells me his eyes not leaving mine, I feel Hunter looking at me but I can't seem to advert my eyes. He clears his throat and says something about going to check on Seth before leaving me alone with Nate.

"Look maybe we got off on the wrong foot earlier." He starts and I have a very high need to laugh at him.

"Yeah maybe so let's start over. Hello my name is Jasmine Barns." I hold out my hand and he walks over and shakes it.

"Hi my name is U.S. Marshal Nathan Nova, everyone just calls me Nate though. We are in charge of keeping you safe until you take the witness stand in three months, my team and I are the best at what we do. Hunter Stillman is my second in command and Seth Wittman is my third I am head over a team of thirty."

I sit and quietly listen to him talk noticing that not once while he was talking did he smile, when he was done I looed at him.

"Why don't you smile?" I asked instantly wishing I could take the words back. He stares at me for a bit before throwing his head back and laughing.

"Well you're blunt aren't you?" He smiles at me and his eyes become an even darker shade of blue.

"Sorry." I look down and blush.
