The Enchanted

Chapter 1

On a fine Sunny day, The five friends A.K.A Emma, Matt, Andrew, Lexi and Baekhyun were just roaming around the streets and joking around. They came across a flyer stuck on a wall. Emma got curious and got closer to the flyer to read what was written on it, after reading it she got excited by the idea of a treasure hunt and called out her friends, as soon as they heard her call they walked towards her. Emma explained about 'The City Treasure Hunt', they too found the idea fun so they decided to visit the address mentioned on the flyer so that they can get more information about the treasure hunt.

As soon as they reached the address they saw in front of them a huge lawn crowded with people and among them were their high school rivals, the Electro Beat that's what they called their team kinda silly.

They asked one of the employee how could they participate in the treasure hunt. The employee politely explained them the whole procedure and gave them forms to fill. After filling the forms, the group proceeded to their houses cheerfully with high spirits and expectations.

It was actually a group treasure hunt and a competition between many groups. It was a two-day event filled with excitement, adventure and surprises. They decided to name their team The Eccentric Explorers.

As soon as they got back home, they told this idea of the treasure hunt to their parents and packed their bags with all their necessities they would need during their treasure hunt. Next day was the the day of the treasure hunt, they were all very enthusiastic and competitive for the challenge which was waiting in front of them.

They woke up the next day early than usual and got ready for their treasure hunt. They reached the site before time and made plans for victory. After their planning, Matt asked an employee, 'Ma'am, When is the treasure hunt gonna start?'. The employee replied, 'The Hunt is going to start just in a few minutes. So, Please keep your team ready.'

All the teams were ready for the hunt. Minutes later there was an announcement and they all heard it carefully. The announcer disclosed the first riddle and it goes like, 'It is hidden in a dark place but when the sun shines it gets light but when something is under that thing it gets cool and dark there'

Everyone was confused, but at the same time they were very curious as to what was that thing? All of them were thinking and looking around, but the Electro Beat had already figured out the clue and had got the lead. When all of a sudden Andrew thought that the clue would be under a table so he got excited and searched for a nearby table. Luckily, he saw a small stool in the corner of the stage. He ran towards it and started looking under it.

When Emma asked, 'Did you find anything?' Andrew replied, 'I think the clue is under a stool or table cause when light is put over a stool it gets light but under the stool it gets dark as the stool blocks the light to pass.' but when they found that nothing is there under the stool, they realized that searching for it under the stool was for no avail.

Then Emma found it, she found the answer to the riddle. She told others to follow her. They were running towards a huge banyan tree in the center of the ground. Emma was searching here and there under the tree when she suddenly found a piece of paper stuck under a huge root of the tree. She screamed in excitement. When the other members asked how she solved the riddle she said, 'Easy, when the sunlight falls on a tree it gets light but under the tree it forms a shadow of the tree and as they release water due to transpiration it gets cool so that is why people say sitting under a tree is cool and relaxing.'

After explaining the answer of the riddle Emma read out the 2nd riddle, it says "I'm found in parks or gardens sometimes even on the sidewalk. you can sit on me and eat lunch, but dont go to sleep - just a hunch."

Reading the hint everyone was thinking of the answer patiently but then the announcer proclaimed that they only have 1 hour left, whoever finds the treasure first will win. The atmosphere got tensed upon hearing the announcement.

Baekhyun suddenly said that, in parks and garden we sit on a bench and some might even eat lunch or snacks while sitting on it. Everyone agreed and started looking for a bench nearby, later after some seconds they came upon an old disintegrated bench. There were pieces of broken wood lying around everywhere, they all started discovering the bench more closely to find the piece of paper.

Lexi saw a piece of wood hanging on the bench, she went closer to the wood and saw a tiny piece of paper stuck on the backside of the wood. She took the paper and yelled for her friends to come. They all were very happy to find the clue.

After like an hour and half they found all the clues but the last one was a tricky one the clue went like, "I'm quite dirty, but can be beautiful too, you'll find me in colors like red, pinks, white, and blue." The announcer later exclaimed The Electro Beat are very close to winning. Everybody started to get anxious, they all read the clue again and again when Matt screamed, "Flower pot!!!" Everybody asked 'Why flower pot?' Matt simply answered that, 'The flower pot is quite dirty because it has mud in it and it is beautiful because of the red, white, pink and blue flowers planted in it.'

They looked around in their surroundings and saw a beautiful red hibiscus flower planted in a flower pot. They all ran towards it and lifted the heavy pot to find a big piece of paper glued under the pot. They separated the paper from the pot and opened it quickly to read the words aloud in a sync, Winner! Winner! Winner! They all shouted aloud in excitement. The group then went onto the stage to tell the judges that they won and to collect their prize.

They were then announced as the winners but their prize was kept a secret and they were called tomorrow again at the same place to collect the prize. Who knew that an adventure was awaiting in front of them.
