CHAPTER 11: THE ENGAGEMENT

'Maybe he's there. It's been a week since we last saw each other."

"I heard from someone that there's something about you and that President?"

"Ha? Sino?"

"Stop acting as if I don't know, you have a very talkative friend. I was asking her about you yesterday when I passed by her cafe and she talked too much. Good thing what she's talking sounds interesting!"

Tumahimik siya saka di makasagot habang iniisip ang sinasabi nito. Everytime she found out that some people knows about their relationship she became confused as fuck and she can't even understand what she truly feels. Wari ba takot siya at may hindi magandang mangyayari kapag nalaman ito ng ibang tao. 

"Hey?" Ani Darren saka tinapik ang balikat niya. "Don't be so stressed about it, I'll support you,I won't talk nonsense about it. Besides Kyrie needs a father, you know how much he longs for a father. I wish that guy can take that responsibility. I bet you haven't told him yet? That's fine as long as he loves you and you love him. He'll accept him if he truly loves you genuinely."

Mapakla siyang tumawa saka bumuntong hininga. Hindi nga siya sigurado kung love ba talaga iyon. How she wished to hear that words from him. "I can't help it but to overthink. Everytime I think about what we're doing I don't know if it's right or wrong. Am I too impulsive? Am I in such a hurry? What do I really feel? There's always those what if's." paulit-ulit na tanong niya sa sarili niya saka siya tinawanan ni Darren.

"Nakakabobo talaga ang pag-ibig. A famous D. Kyrie felt stupid about love. She's a genius in creating art but stupid in love!"

"Compliment ba yan?" sarkastikong aniya saka siya tinawanan ni Darren. Umakbay naman ito sa kanya saka ginugulo ang buhok niya. Eksakto namang bumukas ang elevator at tumambad sa harap nila si Kairo na seryuso ang mukhang nakatingin sa kanila habang nakakunot ang noo.

"Oh? Mr. Francis? What brought you here in a broad daylight?" tanong agad nito saka naunang lumabas sa elevator at humarap kay Kairo. Tahimik naman siyang sumunod rito habang inaayos ang sarili saka tahimik na nakatayo sa gilid.

Hindi sumagot si Kairo kaya mahinang natawa si Darren saka nagsalita si Gavin. "Your Secretary called  earlier that you're free so we rushed to come here to talk about business."

Tumingin si Darren sa Secretary niya saka naman ito lumapit sa kanya saka bumulong na nakalimutan nitong tawagan ulit ang kompanya nila Kairo para ipaalala ang tungkol sa schedule niya. Tumango si Darren saka humarap kay Kairo na matalim ang titig kay Dasha saka tumingin pabalik sa kanya. 

"It's my Secretary's irresponsibleness that caused you to waste your time to come here. Maybe we can talk about it some other time because I had an important appointment today."

"I guess we'll take our leave then!" ani Kairo saka agad na tumalikod.

"Take care, Mr. President!"

Habol pa na sigaw ni Darren saka lumingon kay Dasha saka natawa. "That psycho is fucking funny to piss with!"

Umiling lang si Dasha saka naunang naglakad. She felt bombarded all of a sudden. What the heck with his reaction? Just that?

"Chairman, sorry for being late, something suddenly came up!" pagpaumanhin ni Darren saka lumapit sa ama ni Kairo. Tumingin naman ang ama ni Kairo sa kanya kaya siya ngumiti.

"I didn't expect Dasha would be here!" anito na nakakunot noo saka siya bumati.

"Chairman!" aniya saka nakipagkamay rito. 

"She came to my office today that's why I bring her with me."

"It's great then!" ani nito. Ngumiti naman siya saka tumingin kay Darren na pangisi-ngisi lang.
