Harry Potter was Voldemort's target. Their friends knew this, Dumbledore knew this, hell even the Ministry knew this. James and Lily would do anything to protect their baby boy even if that means going into hiding. Halloween 1981 is when Voldemort decides to put his plan in motion. The only problem is that Severus Snape had made an unbreakable vow with. Voldemort promises to keep Lily safe but when Lily refuses to move out of his way he raises his wand to kill her only for her to raise her wand back and start a duel this resulting in his final fall from evil. Now that he is gone the wizarding world can finally have a sense of normality, well as normal as being in a magical world can be.
